Been told barton has signed. £15k p/ w plus bonuses (apparently) on a 3 year contract. Not bad for a team who is skint.

Would give me 2 years max. Not 3 already 33 and 34 come September.

It's says he's close to signing a three year deal. on a few site online.

Hardly reckless? 15k a week plus bonuses let's say that's around £1M per season, not a bad price to pay for the team that won the Championship's player of the season, especially on a free transfer.

Granted he can be a twat, if Warbs and Davie think he's a good fit then we should trust their judgement. Could be what we need a bit of experience in the middle of the field, just need to strengthen in the back four.

Rumour is that we have a kitty of £5M for transfers including wages so in Rossiter and Barton Warbs he's spent £1.75M, so will be looking forward to who he can secure with the rest!

TPP, you're probably the only one of the knitting circle who doesn't feel the need to convince the others, or himself, that Rangers are dead every time you post, so with that in mind what is your opinion on Barton AS A PLAYER?

The skint part was a bit or sarcasm.

@ Barcabear,

Main drawback with Barton is that his wage over 2 years is dead money. Region of 1.75 million. (no sell on value)

Rossiter on the otherhand (reportedly 10k a week) could have massive sell on value and is the way forward for us at this time imo.

He won Burleys player of the season and was in the Championship team of the year! Andre Gray won Championship player of season.

Strange considering in the same team.

B4RC4BE4R- It was a direct response to Bankiebear. I have zero clue as to Rangers' finances.

Hugh- As a player, I think he's decent. He was Burnley's POTY and considering they won the Championship, that's no mean feat. He played really well this year whenever I watched Burnley. They are set up slightly different to you and (assuming MW plays a same style next year - and all the evidence suggests he will) that would be my one concern. He slows down the play quite a bit. I'm not sure how that will suit your style. That said, he is a decent player and at SPFL level -- assuming it's not too quick for him -- he could be a quality signing.

We ain't skint lol :) ) just wait til the Retail part of the club is going strong again aswell, we'll be in such a strong position, can't wait for next season already, mon the Teddy Bears.

Reason we can afford the higher wages is we are now back in the top league, that'll increase income by 5 million a year and because if that the board have allowed a 40% increases on the wage budget.

Surprised MW in for him as he has always said they look at every aspect of a player before signing him.
Can't see many positives in Barton's CV?
