Apologies if someone has already said this but Barton isn't waiting on whether we get into Europe, to decide if he should sign, he's simply weighing up his options, put it this way, are Burnley in Europe next season?

I would be shocked in his sense of thinking if that is the case. That should be a major reason to join.
You do say he isn't waiting to find out if we get into europe but then say are burnley in europe, makes no sense or am reading it out of context.

I agree it's not dependent on Europe, he has been clear that family and settling in a good school environment are the considerations! At his age doubt he's be playing twice a week anyway!

Yes you are reading it out of context, i've read a lot of people have said Barton is waiting to see if we make it into Europe but that's not the case, Burnley aren't in Europe so if he signed another year for Burnley, he won't be in Europe anyway, as i said, he's weighing up his options and will do what's best for his family and himself.

Burnley or Rangers! Wouldn't be too difficult a choice for me! Playing in from of 50,000 Rangers fans every other week or consistently seeing your support in the minority at all games before you are relegated again!

I think he's meaning burnley aren't in Europe and Barton is choosen between us and them.

think it would be crazy to say Europe has nothing to do with his decision while all the other factors like family are reasons are legitimate I think as a footballer having a chance to play in Europe is always a factor.

Are Burnley in Europe? No. but they will be in the best and one of highest paid league in the world. i kno where i'd rather be. Although he's played a loa of years in the english prem so he might just want a new challenge.

It's not about playing for burnley or rangers. His kids will be going to school soon and as such he needs some stability. Burnley would only offer a 1 year deal which isn't long enough for him to settle. I doubt any prem side would offer him 2 years so I expect to see him sign.
