Right where do I start. first things first, Mark warburton and davie weir has turned our club around BIG time over the past 8 months, credit to them both, secondly, Dave King and co has done an equally great job, woke up this morning to Mark warburton has knocked back a new contract? Ok, maybe he just the press with they're second guessing, but here's hoping this isn't true, but here's the thing, do you think if this is true? It could be a case of Dave King not being happy with us losing the cup final, and thinking, maybe we'll need to see how this year pans out before we commit? Just a suggestion lads/ ladetts what do uz think?

I wouldn't offer MW a new contact till we see how this season pans out. All we achieved last season is what was expected of us. yes we did it in style which was also great. I hope things can continue going the way they have been since arrival of DW and MW though and I'm certain they will.

No way. Board will be desperate to keep him. If true it will be coming from Warbs. But don't think it's any great cause for panic. We've got to be realistic. I reckon when he signed his dream scenario would be season 1-championship title, season 2-premiership title, season 3-champions league experience- and then he'd be off. He's not a manager who's going to be with us for the long haul I'm afraid. Too ambitious. I just hope A) he's willing to turn down better financial offers for a short while in order to achieve something before he goes, and B) by the time he leaves the foundations laid re youth setup, scouting, one club philosophy, club culture, are built to last.

The gaffers still got another 2 yrs, he might go after his contract is done.

Have to disagree about waiting to see, ok we were always going to win the championship, but Warbs has a vision, he has implemented quality and effective football and is attracting well known players to the club as well as promising youngsters.

Joscro. All of what you've said rings very true.

That's why the stories start to get a little boring I suppose.

Could kind of see this story coming. Media have their allegiances but don't realise when they spew these stories it just makes the fan base even more stronger and more determined if that's possible for the new season.

I agree Warbs has done well this year but he would been sacked if we didn't go up, so really nothing has changed! He has done what was expected! I have.

In my opinion nothing is different. He has two years to run and as Egilostenstad said, he was probably never going to extend it. I'm pretty surprised DK offered an extension after the cup final mess when MW was on holiday and unsurprising is he rejected it. What is important is that he stays until the job is done, leaving before then would be criminal and all good work would be lost!

To be honest the total radio silence from Warbs since cup final is a little strange.

Not saying that this story is true but Stuart Davidson did come out and confirm that we were in talks with the manager recently and we haven't heard anything since.

I feel like he should have waited until it was signed and sealed before talking about news deals if there was a chance it might not go through.

Like I said. Not saying that this story is accurate but I get the old 'No smoke without fire' feeling on this one.

Agreed the Campbell. Now t-8 till preseason is fully underway with no Defenders in! This speculation will do us no good in attracting permanent signings.

I cant' see what all the fuss is about.

Firstly OP the Scottish Cup was never factored into the planning process and was a total bonus.

Secondly, as someone said, wait to see what pans out and take it from there, if he does a good job then he will be given a contract offer, if he doesn't (but he will) then we dodged a bullet.

Things are in better shape on and off the field than previous years and we have a reasonable chance at success next season.

Just catching up on this, can someone confirm:

1. MW on 3 year deal with 2 years remaining
2. A few weeks back his salary was significantly increased
3. Assume recent salary increase did not change 2 years remaining on contract?
4. We are now having discussions about extending contract beyond 2 reaming years?

MW not back hols yet, would he let an agent release news on contract discussions?
Would he risk not attracting new players by admitting uncertainly regarding his contract?

Haha, took you long enough to win it, please beat Celtic this year, can't stand them.

Dont imagine he would have the power to sack long service staff and rearrange backroom team i'd he himself was leaving, although I have an inkling Derek McInnes is a certain future gaffer, good manager and big fan.

if warburton left i'd actually cry, I think the guy is the best thing since sliced bread (pun intended)

I think he has a three year plan with us and he will be off after he sees out his three year plan.

and after that time I agree mcinnes is a great manager what he has accomplished with basically no money is great with the sheep and he would be a good replacement as someone else who has the philosophy of playing nice football.
