Onyewu currently discussing contract opportunities with MW. Club are impressed with him - it'll be short term with an extension in contract.

I hope he doesn't get a contract he's 34 years old and brings no value it's not like a maldini or a cannavaro over the hill with experience at top level lately.

Bobby 72 get a grip what cause he 34 he adds no value! Mmmmmm david wier ring a bell kenny Miller? The guy was an american international has bags of experiance which is what we missed badly him and hill will do damage in scotland no problem. They will give leadership and pressense which we lacked badly last year. Am more than happy with him and if mw likes who can argue with that another free signing canny wack it now just a striker and selik are getting pumped off us lol 55 and counting!

Can see Warbs offering the big American a 6 month contract, he looks solid and if anyone can get the best out a player its our Manager.

Ironic you mention Maldini considering the guy played at the heart of defence for what team. AC Milan! The guys a monster! Great signing!

Really do get a good feeling about this guy, he's played for some decent teams and now with him and Hill as our CB's Wilson and Kiernan can only develop and fight for the jersey. Can also see Warbs maybe rotating! Hill with Kiernan then Wilson with Onyewu, Hill and Wilson are both lefty's me thinks. All we need now are two out and out strikers and I think Warbs will hit the loan market for them instead of buying a player with the little money we have. Can't see too many strikers out of contract at the level we want and age is a bigger factor.

We have a manager who has us playing the best football we have played in years, who brought in player that if we were honest we had never of heard of who amazed us all yet whenever he wants to look at or bring someone in people on here know better. Maybe we shouldn't offer him a new deal maybe we should get someone off of here. Trust the gaffer he is there for a reason.

Sorry bobby72,totally disagree with you where onyewu is concerned, the guys have gave you more than enough other examples to chew over,34 years old is not extremely old for a centre half anyway, if his fitness is fine he'll have at least 3/ 4 good years left in him, this guy was a class act and our manager is brilliant at getting players back to what they were, too many people continually doubt on here.

If the gaffer likes him that'll do for me. does anyone know What kind of deal six months with an option?

Hasn't the guy got about 70 caps for the USA? I know they aren't the best but he's still someone they seen as a mainstay at international level.

He might not have played when at Milan but he obviously done something to earn that move.

As said above I really think Hill will partner Kiernan and this guy will partner Wilson to help both of them develop further their knowledge of the game, been proven in the past Wilson is a far better player with a solid experienced CB next to him.

the guys will be the fittest guy in our squad bobby72 have u seen him he is a big solid defender with no body fat at all and if warbs wants him ill take him.
I was dubious at first till I researched him guy looks like he will do fine.

ANDY1872 I hope you are wrong with the rotating the defence its okay to do that with midfield we should be sticking with the best partnership in defence though so they know each others style of play.

I understand where you're coming from warbs but this big American dude hasn't played much in 14 months I hope if we do sign him on a short term deal that I am proven wrong but I have my doubts.

David Weir was 37 when he signed for us. was he over the hill ana? I'd take any CB to replace Wilson.

Onyewu (if he signs) and hill will be the first choice partnership next season.

M3LVO replying to your post . Kenny Miller played for Derby and made 30 appearances for them then signed with Rangers in 2008-2011 made 81 appearances. Then signed for Vancouver and made xxxx many appearances my point is onyewu hasn't played at top level since Charlton athletic back in 2015 he made 3 appearances for them . And at 34 now I believe he's a high risk especially with dembele and Roberts in the Celtic team can onyewu keep the legs ticking over? I don't doubt mark warburton or his signings but I think he should re consider this . And I'd like to highlight the fact I made in my earlier statement that onyewu HAS NOT PLAYED AT TOP LEVEL LATELY . I appreciate your views and comments .
