The truth about the Lescott deal will surface in the next day or two. Nothing to do with medical reasons, it is money related but is not the fault of the player or his representative.

So who's fault is it then?

Check the Twitter TL of the Villa owner/ chairman. Posted long after I did, the truth will out.

DK is to blame sent MW with the gingy bottles from the warchest. 😆.

Perhaps issue was down to wages.

Villa would part fund his wage for final year of contract but we were unwilling to pay the difference in second year of deal.

Just a guess.

But he didn't start his medical. Not a guess.

No big deal rangers dodged a bullet imo.

Sunderland improved as a prospect.

Tony Xia (via Twitter) : Sky is right this time. No problem with medical check.

So what's your point? Of course the Villa owner is going to deny a failed medical. He wants rid of him and doesn't want pay him another years wages.

he is a shocking cb anyways and not the player he was which some people on here seem to think he was and to those people they should really start watching football games that don't consist of the big teams down south.

He's not signing so we move on to the next target, if its Senderos, then i'm sure he will do a job at the back for us anyway, let's just hope we get these deals we want finalised asap.

I'd say it's down to the villa owner who will pay the difference of his wages for a season but the wages we can pay it would Prob only be about half were as Sunderland would Prob pay a lot more so he is only paying a small difference that's what I think if I had to guess. but tbh think senderos would be better only thing now we got to hope he wants to come as we have sort of give him the boot hopeing on lescott coming now haft to go back in and ask him if he would like to join 😳.

he passed the medical but his knees came up as a problem. the same as matt mckays when he signed that's why we wanted to change the terms.

James Stirling. Mate I watch every football game that's going and saw plenty of Lescott last term. He would've made a great addition to our squad and raised the profile of our club. Remi Garde, Lescott's manager came out last year and hailed him as a player he could rely on and applauded his effort to the cause. Somebody is talking out their unmentionable. Wonder who?

Lescott was clearly happy to come yo Rangers after meeting with Warburton and I have to believe that Warburton would have like this guy at the centre of his defence but it is clear that despite all Kings bluster of funds he is just another one like Murray with his moonbeams/

We have yet to see the much promised striker arrive despite us having agreed a deal with Preston. Will we see that one falter at the last moment as well.

We will not win this league with Wilson and Kiernan as our centre backs, indeed we could be embarrassed in games. Now we are left with Senders, and I am happy to have him on board but centre back will still be a major weakness in our team.

It is also surely disappointing for Warburton to see a player that he wanted and had convinced to come to Rangers then seeing us fail to secure the player because of money. We were only talking about the second years wages since Villa were apparently happy to pay year one.

The medical was taken and issues came from it. Best all round for Rangers, JL and Villa that "family reasons" prevented the transfer going thru! 100% Not worth risking his wages for 2 year deal, we don't have the cash to take gambles like in previous years.

He would have been a good signing but we have to be sensible with the money. Shouldn't be breaking the bank to sign a 34 year old woth a questionable attitude especially when we have no European football money. Live within in our means.

All he has to say is my family don't want to move out of England that's fair enough I think he will regret it as Sunderland will be in the bottom 5 and fighting relegation
He has no ties to us so for him it's an easy decision would have been a good player for us but we must move on.

Let's all just take a minute, breath and relax before slating our board etc. Let's find out the facts before jumping the gun. According to Sky, Garner has already signed a 3 year deal so let's leave the conspiracy theories to that mob please.

I think he could've been worth a punt on possibly a pay as you play deal? Where he isn't payed when he's sat on the sidelines. Not sure if he would of went for that but not sure it would have been worth the risk.

Lescott agreed terms after talking with MW. He expected his payoff from Villa to add to his basic wage in Scotland but arrived today to find that those wages were built into to the deal rather than as an add-on. When he found out the full contract details, he backed out. If what he believed originally had been the case, he would be a Rangers player tonight. Someone at the club has misled him, so he's opted to turn down the deal.

Believe what you want, there are countless people on here who know more than me. If he's purely motivated by money, then he'll stay in England. I'll wager a penny to a pound that he doesn't fail a medical at the club who choose to sign him when he leaves Villa.

Lets tie up Senders and quickly, then try and bring in another quality centre back before the end of August!
