why not do both? build foundations spend money wisely?

we are years behind and need to start somewhere.

because our league is so slow we need celtic and aberdeen to do 1/ 2 decent in europe and get the points system up, starting every year at this round is going to drain us

sign 2 or 3 of the rite type of players spending 4/ 5 million, you could sell for 15/ 20+ million in next couple seasons. this is the model many of the top clubs around europes 2nd/ 3rd tier leagues have been using for years, ie Porto, Salzburg, PSV, Anderlecht, Partizan etc its the easiest way to generate large income provided you spend wisely. I'm not saying go wild, only spend what budget has been agreed and any money made from sales of players, but spend the majority on 2/ 3 key assets then sell, rinse and repeat until competitive/ stable and able to hold onto quality players.

I know its only paper talk but i must admit i like the idea of these big Ghananian / Argie brutes in our side. the idea of seeing guys like Holt, Windass and Dodoo attempting to rough up Broony and Co next season gives me the fear.

We need someone with the strategic acumen to take us forward and I really don't see any of the current Board being able to do that. In that respect I would like to think that there is someone out there with an interest and a future plan.
