He'll be far from just a squad player since we only have rossiter as the only defensive midfielder and who knows if he'll be fully fit

better than any of our current players, sure rossy might come good but he's injured mostly

its going to be a long season, we are really paying now for the glory years, but i would not take our ovrspending and boardroom cheating to become the worlds biggest club for nothing. i am certain celtic have some things hiding and they will one day face the hell we have went through, all boardrooms will be the same.

buy youth, buy smart, and give pedro time

Ryan jack is better than any of our present midfield. He knows how to play CDM and is out of contract. We need to be signing good Scottish players who know this league.
Would take Jamie Walker, Liam Lindsay Graham Shinnie, Calum Paterson who would all improve us.

Signing lots of average Scottish players isn't the way forward. Callum Paterson is a good shout the rest a don't agree with. we need good foreign technical footballers from abroad in this team hope we get big alves he scores free kicks tae lol

Is it just me who thinks we actually punched above our weight this year, given the 3 'big' signings in Barton, Kranjar and rossiter all went south, and therefore we've played all season with almost the same dross that struggled to get out of the championship, or players from the English lower leagues?

In truth, had we started with the likes of Bates, beerman, Barjonas, would we have been any worse off? But maybe have grown players to take us forward to next season. I hope Pedro knows what he's doing, and I'm certain guys like Jack, Mclean etc in the Royal Blue would all improve our team

I would have thought that if we sign Alves then he is the obvious choice for captain given his CV. Jack, assuming he performs for Rangers and can live with the move up, can certainly be a captain for the future and we need to remember that Miller has done a good job as a leader.

It is nice to see, that just as in the Souness days it looks like Pedro wants a number of leaders on the park.

The one thing that is for sure, Wallace was not captain material. Yes he merits respect for staying with us but that does not make his a leader and we need someone that leads by example. Alves would be my captain.

Agreed with your points about Wallace but Ryan jack for me Scottish knows the league will demand another level from players no brained for me

In the games Jack played against us he never really stood out. Think he is a decent player but no more. It's a signing to close the gap on Aberdeen rather than Celtic

Jack will be a fantastic capture for us and would be my choice for captain all the way!

If we had started with bates beerman and barjonas, aye, we would've been worse off. What are yous on about on this forum? Bruno Alves to be made captain as well, c'mon, it's just getting stupid on here.

Wallace will be captain again next year granted he not really a captain type player but we can't give the capacity to a foreign player in his first season and same with jack he will haft to prove he is good enough we can't just give him the arm band straight away remember Nicky law dean shields Jon daly David templton and Ian black were all very good spfl players before they come to us So wouldn't get to excited about Ryan jack yet

TOMUSA, I'm glad someone else can see that Wallace is not a captain. I personally think of people like Greig, Butcher and Gough who shout in the tunnel as the teams come out and who keep talking/ shouting through the 90 mins as typical captains. Wallace isn't the type of person that will squeeze another 5 or 10% effort and commitment from others when we're struggling.
