According to press Rangers have spoken Michel Preud'hommes agent and are waiting to see what transpires. He has a good track record, however I feel as a foreigner he would be hung out to dry if things don't go right. I think Mcinness is the safe bet. He will stabilize the club and galvanize the supporters. Blue nose through and through. let's hope this is the last bump in the road and we can push on back to the top.

TJBB I couldn’t agree more. I’m sure he’s a cracking manager but it seems as if managers from the continent just don’t seems to work out over here regardless how good or bad they are, with the exception of Advocaat. It has to be McInnies this time

Mcinnes CV is nothing compared to preud’hommes And do we really want him just because he is Scottish and a bear. if we did go foreign one that has a good track record and insist on a good Scottish back room team to advise would not be a bad thing. A mixture of continental flair with Scottish ruggedness would be a good combination. Personality and man management is key to a good team as we know from years gone by a happy team is a performing team. Walter did it, Souness did it and Advocaat did it. All good man managers who never took bad performances quietly but did there talking in house and not to the press like Pedro

Souness, smith and Advocaat all had millions to spend though, we are now potless

Why the obsession with mcinnes? he has done nothing except finish second in a very poor league, so we pay Aberdeen a million in compo to get him, then what, we finish second to Celtic and we're all happy!

Cause 90% are catholics and can't get to grips with our roots, sure they have probably heard stories but when they experience a full house shouting f the pope its another thing.

When Souness came to Ibrox players would speak to him who would not necessarily have to spoken to Rangers such was his reputation as a player. The same could maybe be said for Preud’homme. I am not saying we should sign the Belgian but he could attract a better standard of player. If we sign McInnes then the DOF will have to earn his salary attracting the quality of player Rangers require to mount a serious challenge. Whoever the new manager is let's get 100% behind him from day one.

Well said, bluenose, whoever gets the job will inherit Mark Allen, Graeme Murty and JJ right away. You can't just dismiss good candidates because they're 'foreign' that's a ridiculous outlook. Preud'Homme is far more like an Advocaat appointment. Not Latin, hardly a culture shock for him, great knowledge of Belgian, Dutch and Scandinavian football, won't bring in players from a country like Mexico which is socially and culturally as different to Scotland as you could get, I'm beginning to think it's not a bad shout. Certainly no bigger a risk than McInnes.

My choice would be to hang onto Murty and Johanson as first team coaches until the end of the season. Let Mark Allen do his job in setting up the scouting system, and bring back Walter Smith as the Manager (remember, Bayern Munich just brought back Jupp Henckyss and he is older than Walter) . We could not possibly get anyone in Scotland with any more gravitas than Walter, and his record and stature stands up to comparison with Brendan rogers. He would not cost the earth and would instill the right behaviour throughout our club. Its a no brainer if he would accept.
