Official - Jamie Murphy on loan until he end of the season, where the deal will be come permanent for 1m.

I think this is a good move from the board, Brighton wanted the 1.4m upfront after we agreed the 1m and the 400k in the following seasons, so the board have renegotiated and taken him on loan until the summer and pay the 1m we agreed originally. This is what Rangers boards of old should have been doing and maybe we wouldn't be in the position we are in just now.

I don’t think it’s a kop out who ever said it was a 3 year deal in the first place not rangers or Brighton it was only the rags it looks like a good bit of business to me well done Rangers and welcome to the famous Glasgow Rangers Jamie this boy will make a big difference to the team but we need a couple more in.

it is a little embarrassing that clubs won't trust us for a while, but with what happened and everything that followed you can't complain. We are still being funded every year with director loans after all.

But a loan deal is good for both parties and we are signing him at the end of his loan.

It says in the Rangers statement it was Brighton who would prefer it to be a loan but it probably suits our board aswell as they will be banking on the season ticket money in the summer and can obviously afford the expense then rather than now

Surely we can now go and get Greg Doherty from Hamilton now with the money we haven't used in the Murphy deal. As most on here say you don't win championship with money laying in the bank.

BearMode . I like your thinking, but you do know that clubs pay a fee to get players on loan don’t you!? They don’t hand them over for free, so we would have paid something to Brighton just now for Murphy then the 1m as you say in the summer, that’ll be close to if not all the 1.4m Brighton wanted. So for me it’s not really that good a deal.

It’ll more likly be a case of we really don’t have the money to pay them in full unfortunately so the board will use the new season ticket money to complete the deal come the summer.

Wool well and truly pulled over your eyes.

£2mil total was getting touted now it's a loan til the summer.

My money's on rangers "deciding against" signing him permanently.

Ha ha.
