Just seen a article that said murray is considering investing in our club once again what do fellow fans think of this
for me if he can bring serious money to the table then it should be considered

Something just doesn’t feel right about it.

Im thinking most fans will see passed the short term gain of investment from Murray’s pockets and remember the utter state we were left in because of him.

He sold the club for a pound because he knew the tax case was coming. I blame him for Celtics dominance, he sold our club to Craig Whyte, who was always intending not to pay the players tax and put the club into administration. Murray started he ball rolling.

I say find other investors. Wouldn’t want him involved in decision making if the going gets tough fanancially, end up sold down the river again.

I say jump at it, I promise you there was more to the £1 sale than meets the eye and it was white and green that put us in this position. If you sell your house and the new owners use it for criminal purposes are you in any way responsible? Murray done nothing wrong apart from selling to the wrong person.

Think it's been proven that SDM actually took money out our club the last time he never invested. He also cherry pick the profitable bits of the club and took them. The bit that sticks in my throat was the EBTs he actually took money each year running this now illegal tax dodge, and when caught jumped ship and left us with that imbecile Whyte. The conman Whyte took the blame for years of Murray overspending and personal under investment.

My gut reaction to reading this is that I don’t have any issue with Murray returning, he may carry a heavy burden as to what’s happened over the years and Murray was in the midst of financial Timplosion himself at the time he sold, I think his wealth had shrunk from £700m to under £100m and businesses all across him empire were folding, with a great deal of hindsight he should have became the biggest creditor and then put Rangers into administration like Motherwell did a couple of times etc. Anyway I know many will disagree and not want him near but I’m just going with my gut.

I think at the end of the day David Murray tried his best in the beginning he just let it all get away from him and made a complete balls up of it. I’m sure he feels responsible for what happened. CW didn’t have best intentions at heart, and maybe DM wants to put money back in as a way to start making up for it.

I wouldn’t have a problem with Murray investing because let’s face it guys not one of us complained at the height of our success and like the other poster said it just got completely out of control and I’m sure he is hurting with the way it all ended and the complete shambles that was left, and I’m sure there is no way he’d go down that route again.

sir david murray welcome back if true all the shambles that went on with ebts etc ain't all down to one person anyone who had ebts offerd ebts etc etc accepted ebts etc etc are just as bad as who ever came up with the idea to screw our club over and put it in the mess it is in

I say WELCOME BACK SIR DAVID MURRAY if true

If David Murray is serious about investing in our great club then let him do it through Club 1872 then we can judge his intentions from there.

Whilst I'm sure most would welcome fresh investment I have to agree with BearMode91. I wouldn't welcome Murrays money after the state he left us in.

Murray was a definite chancer. What bits did he Cherry-pick?

11.) 08 Mar 2018

I wouldn't trust Murray with a pound of my money.

You can take your money DM and stick it where the sun don't shine, His fault for what he did to our club.

Martin Bain was the one who dealt with player contracts so surely he should some of the blame too

Murray sold Rangers reluctantly as due to the recession his other businesses were struggling Rangers were not the only club to use Tax dodges his millions got us 9 in a row and so many good memories if he wants to invest let him we all deserve a second chance

15.) 08 Mar 2018
08 Mar 2018 16:10:56
it was all loans DM used not 1 penny of his own dosh serial liar yes we all enjoyed the 9IAR but we knew nothing of were funding was coming from loans.

08 Mar 2018 16:37:03
Murray started the ball rolling in our downfall. If he hadn't sanctioned these EBT contracts there wouldn't have been Whyte, Green and all the other rubbish that followed. I cannot believe anybody here saying he did nothing wrong? He caused the whole mess for Christ sake!

17.) 08 Mar 2018
08 Mar 2018 16:45:52
We went under because craig whyte didn't pay the 9 million odd to the tax man he pocketed it. He didn't have the funds to get us out he lied and murray was so desperate to offload us he didn't do his homework him. We know he's not afraid to put his money where his mouth is and it would certainly ruffle a few feathers across the clyde that's for sure. If he brings serious financial clout again and he has serious backers within his group then why not.

18.) 08 Mar 2018
08 Mar 2018 16:50:40
Too many short memories, he should never drag himself near our club again. If he wants to make up for what he done leave a big basket of cash on the door step n away back to the shaddows.

19.) 08 Mar 2018
08 Mar 2018 16:51:50
I'm dumbfounded that anyone would consider allowing him anywhere near us again. Yes he gave us some great memories, but the last 6 years would never have happened if wasn't for his gross mismanagement! I don't want Naismith back anymore, but most of you won't forgive him for a misguided press conference that he has since apologised for.

I don't recall Murray making any apologies for what he's put us through! I'm starting to think some of you would sell your grannies for the right price. Given the timing of this 'report' it seems to be an effort to distract, divide us.

20.) 08 Mar 2018
08 Mar 2018 17:21:26
I can assure you all that when Murray sold us for £1 he actually saved us. Remember EBTs were legal and politicians were using them.

21.) 08 Mar 2018
08 Mar 2018 18:52:43
if murray wants to make amends let him put in 20 mil which dave king did as a concerned fan and have no connection to running the show, that would do for me.

22.) 08 Mar 2018
08 Mar 2018 19:54:33
BigMarv82, I'd sell both my grannies and my misses and her grannies and my dog to stop the mhanky mob and get us to 10 in a row lol

23.) 09 Mar 2018
09 Mar 2018 15:31:19
As much as the 9 in a row years were amazing, Murray threw us under a bus to save his other businesses. Can't believe for a minute that as a successful business man, Murray allowed himself to be duped/ conned by Whyte.

24.) 09 Mar 2018
09 Mar 2018 17:16:09
Struth1872 that's simply not true he was thrown under a bus by lloyds bank and sold us for a pound to someone who said he would pay the bank, which he did using money from ticketus the rest is history, Murray saved us from the banks.
