If I'm cynical, it's not a new long-term deal, it's a one year contract extension on a higher wage. He has made it abundantly clear (three times) he sees himself in England before long, and this doesn't really make much difference to that. The only possibility is the story of higher wages in China (whether the bids were real) turned his head and he made noises about leaving for filthy lucre to the club, and to make him pipe down we've given him more money. It is possible the whole thing was a public ruse by his agent to get a wage hike at Ibrox.

The lad clearly Ioves playing for us and is enjoying life at Gers. He is also now being paid the going rate for the job he is doing. Of course he will leave, most likely with 2 years remaining on his contract and will bring on a substantial fee. Would love him to score a couple tomorrow.
