Bates out for 6 weeks i reckon young wilson should be recalled from his loan as we need cover another injury in there and were well short

Sorry for the boy Bates, he has been by far our best defender this season and interesting to hear McLeish considered for Scotland call up.

Saying Bates has been by far our best defender this season is absolutely no compliment. All four have been garbage and we won't progress with such a poverty of quality.

I still think there is an issue with the gap between the midfield and defence at times tho they do still get left exposed at times. None of them have been that great but it's not always totally the defence faults.

Deano i agree we need to plug that gap in the team but only against teams like Aberdeen Celtic and Hibs and to do this i would drop Docherty back into DM and bring in Holt to partner Goss (until Dorrans is match fit) in CM dropping Windass (who i call a luxury player) to the bench

Was upset last summer when Pedro didn't go for Berra and Patterson but those ships have sailed.
Yes Bates has been good this past few months since breaking back in and must be signed but not at all costs. As do you see him being first choice?
I don't i see him as squad player that will be back up next season again.

I suspect Bates will go south for better wages. Then hardly play.
