Gerrard supposedly being unveiled on Friday at lunchtime all being well (but that's not why I'm posting) .

I was in a meeting today with a guy who has drummed up investors for Rangers before and still works in the club. The meeting was not football related - he runs an unrelated business hens the meeting.

He hasn't been at Ibrox this week due to a family bereavement or I would have had the whole story or at least a few cracking pointers. BUT. He says the fact that Murray has stepped down suggests that there's something happening behind the scenes that he doesn't agree with and not the 'reshuffle' suggested. He says he hopes it's not Ashley (Debt) but there's definitely something afoot big time.

Just a tidbit but it's all I've got.

Anybody else think someone like Gary McAllister might actually be a better choice of manager rather than being someone happy to be touted as a number two to Gerrard?

This is why he is coming as a no 2 because gerrard will learn a lot from him and what he has learned from previous managers

Not at all Gerrard is a born winner. Would get instant respect and could get better signings than G Mac but no doubt as number 2 he probably be a great go to guy for stevie.

Gary Mac is a long time respected confidant of SG. So much so that McAllister's agent Struan Marshall signed up all the young boys at Liverpool at that time under Houllier.
