Don’t want to be a negative Nellie and I am excited to see what Gerrard does at Rangers. But there is only 3 signing out of the possible 9 (Saqid and Barker possibly coming in) that I am exited about even then there is reasons not to get hopes up and that’s Katic and McGregor and maybe Flanagan depending on if he can keep his nose clean off the pitch etc. So one is unknown and the other is old and getting on and other is knowing for off field bother.

Anyway the other signings I feel aren’t proven enough and have struggled to get game for there previous teams and even on loan they couldn’t break into the first team squad. and will struggle with Scottish football. Goldson had heart surgery not that long ago and was never in the Brighton squad so he’s had no game time and we have very little money yet we are taking risks like this.? And that Saqid everyone is excited about him but I have watched plenty of videos on him and his finishing is poor!

Keep bringing in midfielder our midfield is already packed! We need a goal scorer with a proven record and we only have Morelos who yeah started great but fell away rapidly in the second half of the season and missed more open goals than I can count!

Can’t help but feel we are hyping ourself up again and it’s going to he the same this season as last struggle to finish 2nd never mind challenging Celtic.

The number of goals we conceded last two seasons has been embarrassing and Stevie G has quite rightly addressed that area first. Once he has assessed squad in Spain sure we will bring in more attackers.

His biggest problem is going to be getting shot of players like Herrera Forrester Haliday Hodson and whoever else he decides is not right for battle.

2mths of the transfer window left and some are moaning on here about signings i’d rather we waited to get the right man rather than a panic signing especially in the goalscoring dept everybody chill we've only bn back a week training

Just because our midfield is packed does not mean that we don't need midfielders, we need quality not quantity. Holt haliday and the rest of the dross, we all know who they are, will be or have been shipped out. I think we still need a quality cm. We will get better ST's in. Gerrard is no mug, he know's what and who it takes to win. Cheer up kenny👍

We have loads of midfielders but very little in the way of genuine quality if any! We still need cab for cover, full bk, 2 quality midfielders and 2 strikers to have a chance of competing for the title! I know I’m like a broken record but players in midfield like jack, Dorrans, Rossiter and Morelos up front won’t win us the league!

Love how people are already negative about our signings! Arfield on a free is the bargain of the season, proven in the EPL yet some folk say he is passed it, he’s 29 and in his prime. Goldson has had health problems that are well documented. BHA fans are gutted he has left, major improvement on Russell Martin or Alves. Flanagan is a proven right back in the EPL, and was on stand by for England squad in 2014, 25 and best years ahead, yes his off field antics ain’t great, and I don’t condone it but he will have a major point to prove, remember Gaza’s off field antics? Mcgregor, proven here and the EPL no more to say. Katic look a big unit, fast and a good touch, look on YouTube for him. Ejaria plays in a very poor Sunderland side last year, must be rated as Just signed long term deal at Liverpool.

Be positive guys, we all want the best for the Bears so as Stevie G said “Let’s go”

Sorry but that’s a terrible post Kenny? Why do we need midfielders? Simple the ones we have got are simply not good apart from mccorrie and Doherty who have potential. You’re so called “ we rangers supporters playing for the club” Jack, Dorrans, Halliday and holt are bang on average and simply no good enough. IN my eyes we still need another sitting midfielder to play beside Ejaria and a creative midfielder because windass doesn’t cut it for me either unfortunately.

What an awful post. Can I just say for the record, Goldson health problems were never an issue and only came to light in a routine check. It wasn’t something that happened that brought it up. Something that he could have played his whole career with and might never had any issues but to stop having any possible issues in the future had a small op to b on the safe side. My god what should b the most exciting pre season/ transfer window in years and people still wanna have a go. Blows my mind.

JJG1 your bang on! We need quality midfielders in there, Windass, jack and doorman’s were shown up time after time last season! What is it with people on here thinking we have the players to mount a challenge, haven’t they been watching us these last few years! The team needs completely overhauled!

Ronnie 9 it totally does my head in some of our supports saying we don’t need midfielders! Embarrassing watching scott Brown who isn’t that great himself looking like Xavi practically every old firm. As I sayed mccorrie, Doherty and you could possibly add Rossiter have potential the rest will never get us to the level we want to get to!

Was just about to post on a similar topic.

Genuinely excited about the new campaign but not very optimistic. I think the league will finish roughly the same as last year but with us pipping Aberdeen to second.

Unless (and I know I keep on about it) we can get a midfield 3 to match Celtic's (Brown, Ntcham and Rogic) for strength and creativity can't see us taking any points off them again.

You can go on about Rangers scored more goals than Celtic last season, but I think the total score for old firm games was 14-2. And celtic were coasting most of the season.

Games are won and lost in the middle of the park, so there is you challenge SG. Put together a centre 3 better than celtics and end this pretend 8inarow nonesense.
