Unbelievable signings fellow bears I really can't believe we have just signed Davis and Defoe.
These signing can't be underestimated as far as world football is concerned we are in the lower leagues as far as financial power is concerned. The cash that's being offered in China, turkey the states etc for us to get these 2 players to more or less finish their careers at our club is truly stunning.

The Stevie G effect. Well done to M Allan and the board. We may not be the richest club in Scotland but this window has shown the world that our club is the biggest and the media and the Tims know it.

Couldnt agree more mate. The signing of Kamara will be another great piece of business. I've watched the videos of this guy and he really does look the part in Midfield.

{Ed0333's Note - I don’t see many club owners in China, USA or Turkey queuing up for a 36 year old Defoe, got to be honest.

So Edd you are saying it’s a bad signing and a strange comment for yourself?

{Ed0333's Note - yes mate I don’t think he’ll be as prolific as you think.

First time poster,
Watching and waiting these past years for us to genuinely challenge for our league title again, I have to echo Stewartyyblue and his post, I think every true supporter of our great club feels this same sense of excitement, this transfer window for the first time feels like we are adding the quality required to win matches and leagues, I hope Davis and Defoe prove u wrong Ed as I feel they will both hit the ground running and add the quality in the final third we have sorely lacked thus far this season.
The way both deals have been agreed shows us all that the board are investing but investing wisely.

{Ed0333's Note - I’m glad you’re excited about your transfers mate I really am. There’s nothing more exciting in football when you’re team buys a few players. I hope Defoe works out for you I’m more than happy to eat humble pie if he does.

I kinda agree with Ed033. I don't think we will be getting the Defoe we hope. I don't think he will fail as such but I don't think its a master stroke i think its a gamble. Just remember Barton, Robbie Keane, Roy Keane, Andy Cole, Kranjar. But as Ed said and I concur, happy to eat humble pie on this one.

For $24k per week, I don’t think we could ask for a better signing, the money it cost Celtic to bring Roy and Robbie keen even all those years ago dwarfs the quoted figures for Defoe, we could spend an awful lot more on an untested player and be left with a huge fee and wage for years to come.
I tend to think positively and think if I was signing for my mate I wouldn’t want to let him down Defoe could easily have went to most championship teams on loan but came to us to win medals, that will be his key driver, and the reason I think both him and Davis will make the difference in the second half of the season.

Sydney. I do agree with you that he will not be coming up here to let SG down, he is after a medal which is perfect. But I just think it will be morelos who could get us over the line not so much defoe. I do think Davis is the big one for us. He is proven up here and will do the job we need.

Ed I think my point got lost in my post. The point I was trying to make is that Defoe and Davis are still big names and everyone is talking about RANGERS again. I agree that it will prob not be the same Defoe of old however his experience imo will only benefit the likes of morelas, Hardie ECT in and around the training ground.
I also think that morelas will continue tobe our number 9 but in those games that we are struggling Defoe is potentially one of those players that you can bring on and score a vital goal to win us the game.

{Ed0333's Note - why didn’t you say that from the start now I’m picking up what you’re laying down mate 👍

Regardless of how he does I’m certain if Defoe at this moment in time was publicly available that there would certainly be interest from the MLS that’s their business model they bring in players with big reputations from the top leagues nearing the end of their careers, he already played in it a few years back.

{Ed0333's Note - even the MLS ain’t that desperate anymore
