Have it on very good authority, that the creative midfield signing steven gerrard wants isn't wigan's nick powell and is the young iraqi attacking, creative playmaker mohanad ali. Our DOF mark allen and stevie G are desperate to secure the signature of this young attacking player, who they think is something special and has a terrific future in the game! They have very serious competition for ali, who they hope to fend off and convince ali that scotland would be better for him, at this very early stage in his career! Here's hoping we can sign this exciting talent!

I think he could be an exciting prospect but i think at this stage of the season we really need people coming in who you know what you are going to get. people like Davis and Defoe for example. I’ve watched the YouTube clips of Mohanad Ali (not much to go on) and he does look a talent but we’ve seen it’s taken players from other leagues a little longer to settle I. e Grezda, Barisic, Katic (in Gerrard’s opinion) whereas people like Arfield, Davis, Goldson have slotted In straight away so great prospect but would be hesitant in thinking we’d get an immediate impact from him.

4 lads blog had Stevie G, Mark Allan and Andy Scoulding away on Saturday to meet a potential new signing, no idea who but their info is usually spot on. Fingers crossed it another significant signing who can improve the first 11.

We just signed a creative midfield player in Davis and I don’t think the Iraqi player would get a work permit.

I’d certainly prefer Powell no guarantee a young lad from Iraq leaving home for first time would be a success, we need somebody who will hit the ground running.
