IMHO Rangers WILL sign Lewis Ferguson.

Out of the blue McInnes states that Ferguson is training really really hard - surely they all are?

Ferguson states that he is really happy at Aberdeen.

His first club was Rangers.

He and his family ALL support Rangers.

He has stated previously that he wants to improve and play for the best team.

Various reports have stated Rangers interest.

£1.5 million will take him to Ibrox where he belongs.

Just a feeling reading between the lines.

He may end up at us one day but I doubt it’ll be this window. Remember they turned down a bid of 5 million for Scott McKenna a year or two back and I reckon they rate Ferguson around the same level. Aberdeen seem to regularly overvalue their players. There’s no way they’d accept 1.5 million. I reckon they’d want at least 3 to 4 million for Ferguson and I just don’t think he’s worth that / we’d pay that for him. There are other options out there for similar if not better players for cheaper.

For me he's a player we should 100% go for especially at that sort of fee however at the same do i think he plays everyweek in a title winning side. no.

Would definitely like to see Lewis at Ibrox and he'd obviously like to come and have the chance to actually win trophies but as others have said Aberdeen would be crazy to let him go for £1.5 million.

Gers1978, what the sheep done to McKenna was a disgrace. The Tim’s offering £5million for him that would have meant life changing wages must not sit right with big McKenna and his stock has dropped after some bad form. Young Ferguson could be talking about getting a massive wage rise joining the Gers and playing for the club he loves! 🇬🇧.

Thanks for that INSIGHT true blue.

7.) 07 Jul 2020

I think we should go for both ferguson and mackenna as they are both great players and mackenna is a solid defender that would shore up the gap we have.

8.) 07 Jul 2020
07 Jul 2020 13:11:47
I think they will price us out of him this summer, Unless we sell Kamara or another player to get the fee.

9.) 07 Jul 2020
07 Jul 2020 13:14:53
I think people are getting a bit carried away with seeing a Ferguson back on the team sheet at Ibrox while I like him as a player and think he could do a job for us it’s maybe a little bit early for him, however I’ve said on here before if we got him now for a reduced price and loaned him back to Aberdeen for a season for free it may well get the deal over the line, also if he doesn’t play against us it would make them significantly weaker when we play them. Just my opinion 🤷🏽‍♂️.

07 Jul 2020 13:18:00
Aberdeen like many other clubs probably us included might just have to accept offers for their players even if its not what they feel they are worth pre C.V.

Not good enough, would be an awful signing.

12.) 07 Jul 2020
07 Jul 2020 13:23:43
There is no way the sheep will sell him for £1.5m. He's not yet ready to make the big step up to a real club. We have never once said we are interested. He says he is happy at Aberdeen. That's a lot of between-line reading to conclude that he wants to come here. Oh, and there are Celtic fans in his (and Derek and Barry's) family too.

13.) 07 Jul 2020
07 Jul 2020 13:36:02
Covenanter, Young Ferguson is a bluenose and won’t do a Scott Allan and deny it🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧.

07 Jul 2020 13:46:21
@Ibrox Storm. Both great players? Not a chance.
McKenna is brutal. I do like LF but they will demand crazy money.

FYI - Rangers NEVER comment on other club's players. No-one knows who they will try to sign. We normally only find out once they are in discussion and, even then, Rangers will NOT discuss these players.

IMHO - we will sign Lewis Ferguson. He is young, strong and skilful. He is only 20 and, is a full time regular at AFC. McInnes rates him very highly and, so do I. He will only get better, but will not improve, as he should, until he moves to a bigger club. I believe that club should be Rangers. His first club was Rangers. rangers is in his blood.

Those who denigrate him should understand that he was voted the best young player in Scotland - what's not to like.

just let go of a blue nose who wasn't good enough. Would be a disaster of a signing.

17.) 07 Jul 2020

McKenna is a big lump of wood, awful defender.

18.) 07 Jul 2020

BWD?

A disaster of a signing?

Please enlighten us all.

19.) 07 Jul 2020
07 Jul 2020 17:14:51
Yately Allan was a bluenose too

his da was a regular in the District!

if this tells us anything it is that money talks i’m afraid

for what it’s worth i think ferguson would be a good signing &’give our team more balance

we’ve too many kent hagi aribos and not enough mccall ian ferguson we barry types

hope this makes sense to older bears.

20.) 07 Jul 2020
07 Jul 2020 17:22:49
I would take ferguson in a heartbeat young player of the year and the type of player we need in the midfield IMHO.

21.) 07 Jul 2020
07 Jul 2020 17:23:58
Successful Rangers teams of recent years have had a Ferguson playing for us, Iain, Iain, Duncan, Barry, Derek, i'm sure there's more.

22.) 07 Jul 2020
07 Jul 2020 18:17:03
Mckenna is 1. slower than helander.2. poor footballer.3 aberdeen looking for crazy money. supports celtic. No from me.

JYF - Alex.

24.) 07 Jul 2020
07 Jul 2020 18:45:36
McKenna - no. Ferguson- just signed a long deal with the sheep so they will want over the odds for him. Would hate to be doing that.
Would it be worth it? Imo, no. Is he a good player? Imo, decent. Is he better than we have? Imo, no.

25.) 07 Jul 2020
07 Jul 2020 19:19:35
Seeker? We don’t have a player like Ferguson. He is a strong, young, holding midfielder.

26.) 07 Jul 2020
07 Jul 2020 19:23:50
We can afford to wait for Lewis Ferguson. I think he is on a long contract. McKenna has not been at his best recently. We need better than him. Also, Aberdeen will not be easy to deal with.

27.) 07 Jul 2020
07 Jul 2020 20:09:30
Would be a terrible signing, not good enough. Already have a decent cdm, unfortunately out on loan.

28.) 07 Jul 2020
07 Jul 2020 20:10:08
Cov, while I respect your opinions and I may even have come across you in the dim and distant, you are in real danger of becoming the guy who tells everyone else what is and isn't going to happen, I'm saying because maybe you have got frustrated with the same names and nonsense every day but your falling into the trap of becoming the smartarse, if one of these player do sign for rangers and you have told someone they have absolutely no interest it will be quite embarrassing mate, chill out

29.) 07 Jul 2020
07 Jul 2020 20:16:49
Yes we do True Blue, Ross McCrorie.

30.) 07 Jul 2020
07 Jul 2020 20:36:31
Cov I have tims in my family, so does the majority mate, Barry's da in law, fergie is a massive Tim, I don't get the point mate, Ferguson is a bluenose since he could walk, makes no odds what he's related too, I didn't see anyone saying Ferguson has no Tim's in his family, did you?

31.) 07 Jul 2020
07 Jul 2020 21:46:58
Bluewoulddo,
You keep saying he is terrible!

Why is he terrible?

32.) 07 Jul 2020
07 Jul 2020 23:02:46
Similar level to a player just released.

33.) 08 Jul 2020
08 Jul 2020 00:50:07
For your information, Tommy, the OP read 'his family are ALL bluenoses, I merely pointed out that they aren't. His father in law isn't Fergie, it's wee Kaney. I have known the family for many years, since Derek was a wee boy, but I'm positive I don't know you.
I don't tell anyone what is or isn't going to happen, it's merely my opinion that we won't sign any of the dross regularly touted on here. As for Lewis, of course he is a Rangers supporter, but he's barely ready to return to Rangers as a first team player - and he has a new contract with the sheep so it means we'd have to pay top dollar for him, therefore SG would be obliged to play him. This move will come off, but not for a year or so.
I am flattered that you respect my opinions, but if I come across to you as a smart arse, feel free to ignore them in future. I am sure I could live without your patronising comments on whether or not I would be embarrassed if my opinions are proven wrong, after all they have been proven wrong many times and still no red neck.

34.) 08 Jul 2020
08 Jul 2020 09:56:47
It is ALL about opinions - we do not need to fall out. The main fact I was pointing is that he is a first team player for Aberdeen, he IS a bluenose, so IS his dad, and his uncle, who has touted him for Rangers and IMHO he WILL come to Rangers this season.

And to answer an earlier post Ross McCrorie is not ready and that is SG opinion and mine.

35.) 08 Jul 2020
08 Jul 2020 10:33:04
Many apologies covenant, obviously you are another to get very angry at the slightest thing, and it's not possible for you to be positive you don't know me is it not, I meant to say Kaney, and said fergie instead, chill out mate, I was actually talking about Ferguson with a very good friend of mine in my playing days and ever since, his name is Geordie Clark and he also worked at Rangers, among other clubs and is like me a big gets fan, maybe you came across him?

Anyway he knows a thing or two about the game and agrees the younger Ferguson has a chance to go far while not having the talent of his relatives, nothing more mate, and I'm surprised you got so angry, and you have been telling people this or that won't happen, when in fact anything can happen, I will give you an example, in 1989, July I think I was a night porter in the Grosvenor hotel, I also was a player with Clydebank, I went to work one night and was asked to keep the bar open for ally mcoist and his party, which consisted of mo Johnston, Alison mcoist and another girl, not mo missus Karen, she was in France, anyway I knew coisty from the hotel and I knew mo from the same block of flats in sighthill, they told me mo was signing for rangers the next day, I laughed and went to bed in the morning, the rest is history, so anything can happen.
