Was talking to a lad at work with good connections within the hearts set up. He seems to think that should we try to sign Shankland that hearts would be looking for Lowry plus a decent fee, his opinion is at least 2m, would be what they would be demanding.

For me that's a great deal for hearts and only hearts. Think that if Lowry comes back end of the season after a strong campaign this year he will be pushing for a starting 11 spot next year. I personally think that we could get younger and better for less money if we look abroad. I have no doubt that Shankland is a good player and would do well for us but for me we need a higher quality of player to push on in Europe.

Shankland is a signing that comes essentially with 0 risk we all know he’ll get us goals. Lowry hasn’t done much at Hearts and I can’t see him being a starter for us next season.

the thing with shankland mate is he's very very good in the air, and has a brain, but lacks pace, so pc will already know if that's who he wants, or not, so i expect rangers to sign someone else, or they will get shankland, , i don't think on this occasion there will be endless backing and fro, ing, they have lowry there and may accept him along with around 1.5m because there's a real possibility that lowry will be worth a lot more in 3 yrs than shankland is now, at this moment, its not beyond the realms that hearts will try to include lowry, i would definetly, , i believe he was headed down the paterson route but he stalled for whatever reason.

I think a fair fee is £2-3m and Lowry on loan for the year.
Defo not sell Lowry not a chance. Say £2m do wan with!1m in add ons.

I’d happily sanction that deal with a buy back option for an agreed fee for Lowry. Shankland is the 1 player we need in January, he could be the difference in winning league or not.

I’m not sure Lowry will make it, if we had a reasonable buy back (say £1m) or a sell on (50%) then it might not be a bad deal to be honest.

Lowry isn’t developing. Not right now that’s for sure. More likely he’ll balls it up. His attitude is awful. Witnessed myself, if I played with him he would be bollocked big time. I know he’s had it pretty bad on a personal level but thousands have. He’s spoiled and the loan was meant for him to see how good he has it. It’s unlikely he’ll ever understand this as he’s very immature.

Problem with Lowry is he thinks he's Billy Big Baws and his attitude is poor. According to my jambo mate, Lowry's attitude has also been bad at Hearts and he thinks he's the star man, irritating a lot of his team mates. He's a good wee player, but he won't make it far in the game, unless he puts the work in and learns a bit of humility.
