How many times do we have to conceded goals from a corner or a ball into the box. Time after time and yes i know its a friendly but come on. Our lack of ability to defend a high ball into the box is shocking.

He’s a good footballer, never a top club centre back.
Not even as back up.
I’d rather have Lewis mayo. Obviously I’d want better than Mayo but a reality check is in need for us as a da base, we can’t have top class squad players anymore in this country.

Also the Scottish or home trained quota for Europe has to be took into account when building our squad each season.

Souttar is never a rangers player, said this when many in here were chanting he’s the best at club n best in league.
Not a chance.
Constantly gives goals away from set pieces and crosses. Crap in the air.

Soutter one of the biggest culprits for failing to deal with crosses into the box even in his short time at the club and lack of game time. Not great.

How many league goals have we conceded from corners this season? 1? Or is there more? We have the best defence in the league. This defence will never play together in proper games. Last 20mins was probanly 3rd string defence. let's not get too hung up on it.

Laudrup, I've been saying it for 2 years, our defending at corners and free kicks is abysmal. We aren't any better at the other end by the way.

2 goals conceded from 2 I swinging corners right on to the 6 yard box. It does my head in that we seem to have completely turned out back on inswingers - seemingly trying to do anything but them. We have dead ball specialists and have brought decent height back in the cluB we need to get more effective from corners At either end.

Agree Soutar is not up to it from cross balls.

It’s like concentration lapses baz, he can be good in the air in games. I know what u mean. But for me it’s his biggest weakness aswell.
It has to be concentration, either that or is he slow on the jump from a standing position due to his injuries?

Maybe the ones he wins are whilst he and the attacker are moving around?

It seems mostly set pieces when your standing still as the ball is hit that he loses the headers.

We don’t do in swinging corners - my theory is because we never take them we must do the same at training and never have bother then play any team and look awful at defending them - and we have scored I think 2 out of our last 100+ odd corners that’s terrible. re soutter think he’s good on the ball and in the tackle but awful in the air I mentioned it here a few months back from August to October he was at fault for 7 goals scored or caused by coming in at flight.

Fair point Stevieg2, it does look like noone really tries to win headers and just look to jump into the opposing player at both ends. The only people I'd say are not bad in the air are the much maligned Tav, Sima and on occasion Goldson.
What i'd give for a butcher, gough or amuroso type. Actually any if them now would probably still be ok.

Recognise Souttars failings at times, yes he's a good footballer out from the back, can pick a pass 2, but how many times when he's played has he cut out cross balls when Tavs went awol on the right. Just a thought, have a look.
