Thoughts guys, Is Dessers a better player when he has no time 2 think? Took his goal well Tbh, or will he always be of too many minds? Here's another one, do you think he'd have benefitted from an experienced striker like Defoe coaching him? Just my deluded musings, Thoughts?

I honestly think people are too harsh on certain players, it's like once they have a target it's very hard to shake off, there is occasions he's showed real promise, the Celtic chance was unbelievably frustrating but his stats aren't that bad, I do think he's a confidence player and will get better each game, players do take different times to settle it was a horrible start for him, I'm still hoping he can be the player we all expected, I could actually put matondo in that category the boy has got talent no denying that but he like dessers can be frustrating, matondo finally looked like the player had turned up then got injured, maybe a run off games consistently will show the best, let's face it our fans at times are incredibly demanding it can be a real culture shock coming to Scotland, can't even go for a pint of milk without being surrounded by fans, we are a very in your face culture in Scotland some players just can't cope with that type of demands.

Gd reasoning GJD83 agree about matondo too and west of scotland demand, also like you feel there might be a player or 2 intime.

Morelos had defoe there and it never helped him. He was very poor when he had time to think and needed some composure. Very poor a 1v1s and his pen miss v them comes to mind. So no i don't think it would help him. Its something that must come natural to you.

Dessers is a 1 goal in 20 attempts guy and he will score the more one difficult goal rather than the 5 easy ones and cost Gers games.

It may seem harsh at times but that is what happens when you constantly frustrate a fan base.

Especially when you consider what was paid for him. Same goes for Danilo.


Yet there are fans that don't want to sign guys like Shankland for £3-5m. Craziness.

Ally MC I'm not big on stats knowledge but I'm pretty sure dessers shot to goal ratio is far better than 1 in 20, is it 10 goals he's on now? I could be wrong but I do t think we actually get that many shots away in 4 games far less just Dessers

I'm not even exactly sure how much we paid for dessers, Danilo and lammers but the figures simply don't add up as apparently we spent £13 million on all players incoming yet dessers, danillo and lammers alone cost more than that according to papers or fans on here? I don't think the fees reported are actually correct I believe they were a couple of million less each player, but that's just my opinion

Agreed stormtrooper, again like a broken record on here Ill say it again I firmly believe our last 5 years of strikers would do far better within a front two or more support from midfield, I feel we are far to isolated up top of our main striker goes wide or drops out the box, sometimes we don't even have a striker in the box for crosses, I find that astonishing, plus all past strikers number usually has penalties in there, our strikers don't get a sniff at penalties or free kicks.

Dessers ain't the worst but he's pretty awful to say the least. Kinda agree on the front two GJD83 although it would help if our strikers could hit the target.

He started shockingly bad but I’m whiling to put part of that down to Beale and his lack of tactical awareness. Some of Dessers runs were completely illogical at the start of the season.

He has in my opinion done a lot to deserve credit and his goal last night was very good, good movement in a tight space and very composed to chip the keeper.

I still have some concerns with him leading the line against Celtic for example but more goals like his goal against Betis will do wonders to change my mind further.

I’ve previously referenced him as on par with Kyle and Sebo…., I’m happy to acknowledge that I wrong wrong with those comparisons and I’m really glad to see him turning things around.

Matondo offers very little and imo isn't the standard needed as for Dessers yes he. ll bag 10/ 15 goals but he's not someone we can rely on week after week but he misses far too many and is a squad player at best.

Think in spfl we should go Silva n dessers up top, wotever people say dessers makes Lots a chances for himself, think that would help Silva two dms is pointless raskin chasing shadows but not match fit so al let it slide, cantwell no excuses man down lol tav can slide into dm leave 3 at the back 3232 only in spfl tho.

I've said similar for donkeys here we go, at Ibrox we should be starting with two up top every single game bar Celtic ( I'd still do that but understand midfield is a battle in they games ) we don't go for the jugalar and it's a lot to do with lack of support or body's in the box, it has been evident for years I'm astonished it's not been addressed quicker, two anchor men / defensive midfielders at Ibrox is abysmal, it makes us do the side to side passing more and it leaves us shorter up top, players resort to passing it back in there as a safety net rather than playing a forward or direct pass I to a more attacking area.

We could certainly drop cantwell and play with two strikers would be a lot more productive. Silva instead of Cantwell would be a start.

I gave football manager a bash but it's far too intense now man I'm 40 I had to appoint the assistant for an assistant there was that much to do lol that was enough for me, champ man Italia an end of seaso 93 were phenomenal, best one was cm2 right enough, many hours in my boxers wasted during the summer to that game lol.
