I see lots of discussions regarding Cantwell. Is he good enough or put in enough effort or should we sell him and his value etc. Two reasons why i would sell him is 1. He is a cheat and 2. I don't like cheats.
If he focused more on using his footballing ability than on his cheating and giving away petty fouls then i would keep him but he can't do that. I would send him off to the auction with no reserve.

Such a quality player with a "Gift" Hopefully PC can Implement this and take that aspect you mention Three Cheers out of his game and soon. The potential is there for all to see.

Most the attack minded players in the world must be cheats, even the defensive ones in Italy, Spain etc go down if you look at them the wrong way.

You can accuse him of not being good enough, although that's a matter of opinion but you can`t accuse him of not putting in enough effort. You won`t get many players of his type who work as hard as him.

Cantwell valued by the board at £10m. Fits homegrown status for EPL so that increases value.

My problem with cantwell is that he wants 4 or 5 touches and always wants to try and beat 2 or 3 men. He then looses the ball and falls to the ground waving his arms wanting a foul. He kills our play and is paid a fortune to do it. Any decent offer should be considered. I'm not 100% convinced PC rates him.

Broadly agree Three Cheers, I can’t stand watching players diving and certainly not our own. It’s pathetic but he isn’t the only one.

I think Cantwell still has the potential to develop and improve as a footballer. I think PC could be the man to make that happen.

Three things I question about him:
1-is he injured? He always appears to have strappings on his calf’s etc, I’ve never been convinced he is fully fit but clearly wants to play and he does put a shift in.

2- is he a man child? I don’t know if he has the mentality to progress higher up in the game. Some of his stuff on social media is pathetic, tick tok videos make him look like a bit of a plonker and some of the petulance during a game and picking up needless yellows all the time is ridiculous at times. For me it seems like the only thing holding him back from being more successful is himself.

3- is he actually too forward thinking for our current squad? Hard to explain but sometimes I get the sense he is frustrated because he knows where he wants to play a ball but other players aren’t on the same wave length/ creatively thinking the way he does so he has to hold back, slow things down, take more touches. He takes up good positions but doesn’t get the ball quickly enough and is closed down, another source of frustration. I genuinely think he has a lot of talent and ability but we aren’t seeing it fully utilised for some reason. If he can get to where he should be and be consistent, no question he is a £10m+ player.

One thing Cantwell can’t be accused of is not putting in the effort, his running stats will be right up there, he works hard for the team! If we get a no9 with good movement and finishing his assists will improve no end.

He dives about more than Tom Daley. Its embarrassing. Personally I don't think he works that hard, he'd rather do the Ryan Kent/ Morelos thing where instead of defending against the quick free kick they moan to the ref. His stats are crap for an attacking mid. Young McAusland puts him to shame imo. We can do much better!

My opinion of Todd is that, yes, he runs around a lot, but a lot of the time it is wasted energy, he creates very little. On the plus side his goal against Killie is what I want to see from him regularly, he can be a clever player without being too clever at times. PC will have talked to him about his diving, it does him and us no favours as it disrupts the flow of play most times.

In defense of Cantwell could it be that he is a step ahead of the others and not on the same wavelength not saying that he’s a superstar but?
