This is a bit of a harrowing concept for many but do me a favour and hear me out. One of the main reasons we are where we are is because of our loyalty as fans. That loyalty is a great thing but it unfortunately comes hand in hand with fear and subsequently denial. These are the things that have enabled shameless "business" men to see an opportunity to make (and continue to make) a handsome retirement fund for themselves and their chums. They have no loyalty, love or concern for our once great club, why would they? Yet for years we have welcomed them all with open arms despite the warnings from many that we are being mugged off. Our love for Rangers and hatred for anyone who says anything against our club has blinded us to the truth. This is not Rangers, this is the imagery and symbolism of Rangers being used as bait to reel us in. Our club in it's original form only exists in our hearts and minds but the beauty of that is it cannot be sold, it cannot be stripped and it cannot be used against us. Our current predicament was inevitable which is why all our loyalty has done is to prolong our agony for the benefit of others. So here we find ourselves again with our loyalty and fear being used against us to make us feel responsible for "saving" our club. I don't know about you all but I made my stance clear long ago. Those of you who have been posting on here since Whyte appeared will be aware of my dilemmas and angst over the state of our club and what I felt was the right thing for me to do. For a while I urged others to keep their ST money and not keep feeding this ravenous beast but sadly most ignored these ideas as Timmy in disguise or a lack of loyalty. Yet here we are again with the ST dilemma with us once more. How much longer are you all going to keep buying into this wolf in sheep's clothing? Why not put your money into making the Rangers in your mind and soul a reality once again. I get that it's harrowing thinking about potentially loosing Ibrox etc but many teams have left their spiritual home and went on to flourish. Who gives a f@*k what others say about us not being the same or having no history. Quite frankly that's bo110cks, I support Rangers and I was there. I watched that history happen and it did happen. That cannot be taken from me. Let them talk about timelines and company numbers and I'll talk about Coisty and Hatley doing over Leeds or Laudrup and Gascoigne dancing through SPl defences like a hot knife through butter. I'll ignore their hatred out of respect for our fallen from our tragic disasters and for the great leaders of our club who are no longer with us. This is Rangers to me, Rangers is my team and if it all disappears tomorrow Rangers will still be the only club for me. I'm sure there are many of you the same which is why Rangers will never die. There will always be a Rangers and I think our blind loyalty has demonstrated this, it just depends what we want it to be. We are to hung up on the fear of loosing our physical home but we needn't be. If we want to keep Ibrox we just have to find a way to do it. There is always a way if we want it badly enough but if not well why don't we just start something new that encompasses all the honesty, integrity and dignity that most of us want. I want a Rangers to be proud of and at one time I had that. This current set up is a Frankensteins monster and we're allowing it to keep breathing. Time to choose between moving forward with dignity and somthing to be proud of, or festering in a swamp of our own bitterness and sorrow. History should not be an anchor, it is a sail that can take you over new horizons. We have to know where we came from to understand where we are going. Don't be scared of the future bears, embrace the opportunity. If I have to follow Rangers juniors in the future then that's what I'll do. I'd rather that than be held forever hostage by moneymen and our own fear. They have nothing unless we give them something. Starve them out and then use our collective power to get back on track with dignity.

Wow. a post and a half sir. In todays hi finance and business I am sorry to say RFC are not seen as a feasible risk. Celtic are owned by
Mr Desmond out of love for the club. Otherwise I do not see big investment from other source's there either, not having a go at them its just the state of play in Scottish football. The only way RFC is going forward is a fan base collective and the way things are, I am sorry to say I cannot see our alleged 2.5million fans getting together and splashing the cash to keep the club in the style we were accustomed to. Sorry to be negative but reality has set in bears.

2.) 08 Mar 2014
Starve them out now, starting with 2morro, well said, I just wish there were more people like you, instead of the new breed of pathetic head in the sand brigade. that unfortunately follow rangers. if they keep this up hell mend them, they will get what they deserve. FA

Anon - I was going to stop after reading 'hear me out' but I stayed with it

So after 140 years, we have two of the toughest years in our history and you want to pack it all in and start a junior team

where is your loyalty there?, do you think all the greats that you are quoting above would have the same attitude? I doubt it, do you think all rangers supporters are not suffering right now?

incidentally buying a ST does not, and never ever did, get you a seat on the board or a say in the running of the company,

it gets you 18 home games, away ticket allocation, blah blah, the money the club raises from ST, s is a main source of the clubs income which is then used to pay the clubs expenses, we now know that past expenses included huge payments to those who had control previously

Its blindingly obvious that the club has been disgracefully managed over the last two years and many dubious payments have been made to those who were in charge at that time, I doubt if their is a bear live who fails to recognise that

I am hopeful things should have changed after the first AGM when the board were elected by the shareholders for the first time,

however is it realistic to expect new management to turn the business around from losing 1M per month back into profit within two months of taking charge, and magically draw millions of pounds out their @ss to get the club through this season

I don't think it is

if you want to give up because we have had two tough years, been financially abused by shameless business men and endured some terrible management, that's your choice, you have your opinion and I have mine but don't spout on about loyalty,

leave that to the loyal fans who will stick by the club even through our toughest times

rangers have given us 140 yrs we owe the club the chance to get back to where we belong

What a fantastic post, sat reading it with welled up eyes, lump in my throat and a heavy heart I knew we had the most passionate fans in the world but wow, it is time to unite we are many and with guidance we can save our great club from the clutches of the parasites sucking the life from our wonderful club. I think the OP is getting ahead of himself, why not wait until DK and the Board have their meeting, and then decide. DK is not going to be fobbed off without seeing accounts, so I would imagine the accounts will be out before any meeting takes place.
Rangers fans have held it together for 2 years, the next decision will be huge for the club, I wouldn't rush in just yet.

7.) 08 Mar 2014
Mr spiv change the record sit down and look the damage your action would cause that would be ok if spivs as u call them hold security over the whole show and would not let it go for nothing

8.) 08 Mar 2014
Well said JG, trying to separate friends from enemies on this site is becoming harder by the day. We have gone most of the season losing only one game in all competitions we are in a (diddy) cup final and the quarters of the Scottish cup with a realistic chance of getting to the semis and, playing at Ibrox a chance at least of getting to the final. We can win the league next week, is that enough for some? No let's pack it in and start a new team. lbj d, are you a Rangers fan? We all want free flowing silky football every week but did anyone really think we were going to get that in these leagues?

9.) 08 Mar 2014
"Its blindingly obvious that the club has been disgracefully managed over the last two years and many dubious payments have been made to those who were in charge at that time, I doubt if their is a bear live who fails to recognise that".

Wow JG at last you recognise what's happened, all those posts pre-ipo, post ipo, pre-AGM, post-AGM from you encouraging fans to buy shares.

and now you think last two years bad.

How is last 6mths since AGM any better? Same spending, same lack of clarity, some concerns about deeds, same concerns about assets.

what changed. just you backing green all the way, then saying ok his lot bad, but new lot (which look like his lot still) are slightly better?

10.) 08 Mar 2014
I am certainly a rangers supporter with the amount of players and money being spent on the team I certainly don't think its to much to look for better performancesn than what we get look every coach in the lower league has managed to prdduce tactical formations that make us look lik diddymen for 80% of games its only full time traing that gets us by

First of all apologies, I am the OP. I was logged in but obviously went on too long and got logged out.
JG, it's simply a question of perception. You clearly feel loyal by continuing to declare your support (which may be easier if as I think I've read before you are not in the country so don't have a decision to make about renewal?) Forgive me if I'm wrong on that. However, I and others are of the belief that we are being loyal to what our club used to be and our hopes for it's future. I did not renew as I'm of the opinion that this overpaid group of players and management are an insult to our intelligence and the whole concept of the current Rangers model goes against everything I believe my club should represent. I make no apologies for that and I am comfortable with my stance. The cup finals and massive points gulf mean nothing to me as I do not agree with the methods used to achieve this success. In all honesty I'm disgusted at the direction our club has went in. I am entitled to give that opinion as you are yours but it is an opinion that I have maintained with unwavering consistency. So in answer to your ticket question my answer remains no, I am not interested in tickets for finals that I feel we have bought our way to with money we don't have whilst we've brushed aside ordinary people who've lost jobs or been bumped off for money owed. If this is the Rangers that continues to represent us then you'll be pleased to hear I'm done with it. If you're happy to continue lording it over everyone bash on. In my mind there is no glory or satisfaction in winning a banger race in a Ferrari, especially if you're not even keeping up the payments on it. The longer this farce goes on the more appalled I feel about the whole situation and I will not be a part of it. However if it is correct that you are not a ST holder anyway spare me the sanctimonious perception you portray about loyalty when there are thousands of us ordinary folk who struggle to make ends meet for our families whilst still trying to have a club to follow and be proud of.
Steerpike- You may well be right but today there is no decision to make. Just keep an eye on the situation and when renewal time comes do what you feel is right. Just try to stay open to the concept that you may be being mugged off again.

13.) 08 Mar 2014
Also JG, what have this board done to date to give you belief that they are not just another group of lying leeches? What do you base your hope in the AGM on?
In answer to your question about turning things around in months do you not think a good place to start would be by not spending money recklessly, accepting a loan with more favourable terms and answering the questions fans have been asking for years. If there's nothing to hide then alay our suspicion with a bit of honesty Mr Wallace.

"So after 140 years, we have two of the toughest years in our history and you want to pack it all in and start a junior team" - JG

Yes, this would have been good start, its what Hearts are doing (lost big stars, regroup with youth) and also what DAFC ( admin cost main team players ).

We would still have two major advantages from this strategy:

a) Murray Park - developing young stars

b) 50,000 crowds

when we get back to top, then we could have warchest to buy some stars if needed.

Your plan is spend £22m in year1-2, only get to championship and got bust and back to div 3 again. ?

We scoring more goals than any other team. you don't win leagues and promotions by most goals scored!

we only need to win promotion by 1 pt.

15.) 08 Mar 2014
JYF- How many times do folk have to say it has nothing do with "silky free flowing football". This perception that those of us with a conscience and a degree of integrity are somehow glory hunters f*cking annoys me. Who are you to tell us what we should feel about our club? I'm a former season ticket holder from long family line of Rangers supporters just like many others. I can't take my son to games anymore because I'm not prepared to bring him up following a bas7erdized version of our once great club. If it was an honest set up playing sh17e football we'd still be there. I wish all I had to worry about was sh17e football, believe me. Just because you have a different view point doesn't make you anymore of a Rangers supporter. In fact, I would argue that you and the head in the sand brigade are responsible for prolonging the tenure of these squatters in my club. Your blind stupidity is staggering and after a self imposed sabbatical from posting this site I couldn't bear reading anymore of you and JG's drum banging without providing an alternative view for those who are also sick of listening to your p15h. For the last time, we are not staying away due to sh1t football, we are staying away because we refuse to feed the beast then complain about it being there. That's called not being a hypocrite.

{Ed039's Note - No problem with the post Baybear, next time without so much of the language ..... I'll allow it this time though)

Apologies Ed039- I've been storing up my rage for far too long. Let myself down a bit there. Just so frustrated and annoyed with some folks ignorance to the pain of others.

{Ed039's Note - The post wasnt a problem mate and your point came across loud and clear - you didnt let youself down. Chin up bud)

17.) 08 Mar 2014
Cheers Ed039, maybe I should reconsider that sabbatical before I have a coronary event ;0)

18.) 08 Mar 2014
Hear hear baybear I am waiting to find out the outcome of dave kings meeting with the board if there is no change I won't be going to ibrox until there is change

19.) 09 Mar 2014
Baybear, your having a go at me for urging fans to turn up and support our team? Because you swear a lot doesn't make you any more passionate than me. My head is not in the sand mate, I can see exactly what is going on but if I buy a ticket for a cup game i'm not handing that cash to the board i'm buying 90mins of entertainment and I'll be shouting for every foul, pen, shy corner ect. i'm certainly no more a Gers fan than anyone else but a "supporter" that doesn't go to games and supports his team via Rangers Rumours is not a supporter any more just someone with an opinion, or maybe you can tell me how you "support" Rangers now. I take it the eds are going to need all their editorial skills for your come back

20.) 09 Mar 2014
Nope JYF, I was having a go about your need to question if people are actually Rangers fans (#8) and for asking what more people want other than winning the league next week. If you read the posts again you'll see that at no point did I question your validity as a Rangers supporter however you are constantly questioning that of others. You will also notice that at no point did I have a go at you for urging fans to go to the game. Equally you should notice that I haven't urged fans not to. I have simply given an opinion and constantly referred to my non attendance as something I felt was right for ME to do, not telling others what to do. So there lies the difference, I accept the differences in opinion, where you refer to fellow supporters as "enemies" or question if they are supporters at all. It's an all too common attitude by those who seem to have a superiority complex because they still go to games. I gave my reasons for staying away and clearly by the attendances there are others who feel the same. Who made you the judge of the requirements needed to be a Rangers supporter? And what exactly is it that you're doing to secure our clubs future? Support can be offered in many ways and the notion that attending games without questioning anything that is happening at the club does suggest a head in the sand attitude in my opinion. I've no doubt you're as passionate as the next Rangers supporter but your dismissal of the opinions of others who don't agree with you is one of the main reasons why we are a support divided. We may have a worldwide fan base but it's of no use while some are too busy questioning if their fellow supporters are even supporters.
