MW quoting Bournemouth incredibly have bigger wage budget than Bayern Munich. English Championship average wages are also v high compared to Scottish. If you research the international players wages averages you will find that the countries closer to our budgets include : Holland, Belgium, Argentina, Ukraine, Portugal etc. All are paid much less than English Championship. The point being - for cost effectiveness we have to utilise the international market starting with Holland and Belgium (tic have been doing this) . We already have quality contacts in Holland - Michael Mols etc. already offered to scout for us, so surely it's now time to implement? We can forget quality experienced English players.

Celtic benefited from the Dutch market very well. That boerigter was awesome for them.

I see what you are saying, but what we should really be investing in is our youth. If we have a good foundation then we can produce good quality players, Barrie Mckay for example has had a great season and I can only seeing him getting better. MW and Sir DW are the best guys to help do that.
Have to admit that stat about Bournemouth is a joke, there all just a bunch of mercenary's down there!

Van Dijk bought for £2.8m. Sold for nearly £13m. £10m profit.
Good transfer business.

Agree Ally, youth policy is paramount, but we need couple of classy experienced pros in defence and centre mid. Bosman ideally, but wages could be high.

Excellent post and I agree 100% the other benefit being that most Euro and World based players have a far higher technical ability.

We need to balance that with the ability to fit in as some nationalities are just not suited to our game.

That said I feel MW is much more likely to look at loan signings for our 'star' players and lower league England plus Scottish players to keep the team a group of players that are similar minded he definitely favours British which I think works.

With Youth being paramount I had a look at how the Development Team are getting on.33 points after 26 games. CfC on 71 points after 25 games none lost. A huge gulf. So something needs done asap if youth is the way ahead.
