sorry if I upset a few Tav fans, but I think he must be a standby player, be canny run, pass or tackle, he would be good if it was American football where we could bring him on for the free kicks, but every week you see the opposing teams play down Rangers right side because of him.

Have to agree with this. I like Tav and he loves it up here but he can't defend. If we played 4-4-2 he'd make a decent right winger but Hibs intentionally attacked that right side and caused havoc. If the rumours are true about Hodson I think he'll be a cracking signing. Not flashy going forward but solid.

one of our best players last season and only had three bad games and done a great defensive job against celt*c!
exactly what more do you want from a modern fullback?

plus he scored a lot from open play and scored a ridiculous amount for a fb.

I know its your opinion but u r wrong mate!

I agree with James Stirling. Tav played and defended well when it mattered most. People will remember the Final as it's the last games and it was huge but he was clearly not 100% fit, and had played every minute of every game over a long season up until then. Rangers fans can be so harsh on their own players it can be embarrassing sometimes. His goals and assists were priceless to us all season. If he still looks shaky with a better CDM in front of him and a more solid back 2 then I'll be worried.
Look at Walker last night, rips teams up week in week out for Spurs but can get caught out sometimes. Would every manager in the EPL still like him? Of course they would, It's modern football. I think people don't realise what is happening in our formation. To play that type of 4-3-3 that the likes of Barcelona and Spurs do you must have ATTACKING full backs. Spurs have Rose/ Walker Barcelona have Alba/ Alves. It's the only way it works when teams are parking the bus every time if your FB's are overlapping and actually producing an end product most times. It's how to break stubborn teams down. Wallace and Tav did it countless times last year with a great final product, either crosses or goals. Look at how many we scored compared to how many we conceded, in fact Tav and Wallace probably scored and created more between them than we conceded altogether.

He was exposed each and every time he came up against a half decent left sided midfielder. Not just in a few games at end of season.

For example he got roasted at Morton in the midweek evening game, that was a bout 1/ 3rd of season to go.

Yes he done well initially, but he's been found out and if I was setting a team against us I would encourage balls to be played down left channel all night long.

well put recbob some people live in the dark ages when it comes to fb's but that being said our fullbacks will bomb forward next season but they won't have the chance to do it as much as they have done in the championship and they will know that they are not daft! neither is our manager and hodson is cover at best he won't get a game unless in the cup games and / or if one of our fulbacks get injured!

He played a lot of games more than he's ever probably played in a season, hopefully this season he will be a bit more consistent throughout the season.
