Celtic set to sign Kolo Toure, surely any decent forward thinking player in Scotland with a bit of pace would be rubbing there hands at the thought of Ambrose and Toure at the back. Those other 2 defenders Celtic signed can play 3 games without getting injured so it's a real possibility those 2 will play games together.

Scottscottish r u on the bevvy?, or just don't know much?, why would we be worried about pace?, toure has pace to burn, plus you would need to get a player in with pace to trouble us, think our pairing will be toure and eric, i'd be more worried what griff, dembele, and roberts will do to a hill / wilson pairing tbh,

Toure is a decent quality player that will do ok in Scotland. Personally I am more worried about our two centre backs than who or what the filth sign.

said it on my own page lads that if barton stays out of trouble he will be a stellar signing, said on this page that I've watched windass and he's tidy, youve brought in some good players, kranjar i don't think will do much tbh, not here dangling lines was just curious why everyone is slandering KT now but when the rumours that warbs wanted him you were applauding your gaffer for trying to get him in, imo he will do a great job.

The op clearly didn't see much of toure last season. He was outstanding both in epl and Europa cup. He's in a different class to their current crop of defenders.

A position we still need to improve on.

Decent replies from bhoywonder, I have always thought Toure was a good player and considering his size he can shift.

A good signing from a Celtic point of view.

Not worried about the boy from city, the thumb or Dembele as they won't get the service from midfield if ours does their job right.

Hang on folks when we were after him he was an exciting strong quick centre half signing from a PL team. Now "they who won't be mentioned" want him he's a dud. Let's be realistic he would be a decent signing for either team. The manky mod will be paying him double or triple what we would have. Let them get on with it I trust MW to find us another gem.

reckon we might be paying good wages Blueshaun, but its nothing compared to what he could of got in china or middle east, to me that says he's here for a challenge and trophies, not just to top up his retirement as he couldve got triple than what we offered him.

Sad to say but Toure will be the best CB in the SPL by a country mile. People slagging him off now either know nothing about football or just in denial because he is signing for Celtic. Was part of one of my favourite teams of all time with the invincible Gunners of 2004, and the guy still has the qualities to stroll the SPL.

Would have loved Rangers to get him but that's ok, on to the next target.

Can't believe some are on here slagging off Toure. He played a fair number of games for Liverpool last season much more than Hill played for QPR. As someone said though I'm more concerned with our central defence and feel we need to bring in a very good centre half and striker if we have any chance of trying to win the league.

I am with Biffo. Toure is a quality centre back that I would have ben delighted to see sign for us.

I have little confidence in our two central defenders. They struggle in the air, don't command the defence the way the should do and are not exactly quick!

We need a top quality centre back and I would have been delighted if we had got Toure when it was rumoured we were after him.

Toure was liverpools best player in the Europa league final. He will stand out in Scotland but if we play right then we can still beat them. It's just good to see these types of players in Scotland.

Agree toure is a good player but he been prone to injuries past couple of seasons he only started 8 premier league games last season it was mostly Europa league he played boyata is rotten the only good centre back they have is the Danish boy our strikers shouldn't fear them that's for sure.

Toure is without doubt a good signing but surely a fully fit celtic defence would have the guy who scored against us in the Scottish cup and simovic (spelling) seeing as they spent millions on them? Kolo Toure has averaged 17 games a season since 2009 (7 years) and some of them have been from the bench so I can't see him being first choice, like Clint hill he will have been signed to do a job when called upon and help the young defenders.

To sum up he's a good signing but not someone that frightens me, like when we were linked with him in June I wasn't fussed either way and wasn't bothered when we didn't sign him but I would have taken him.
