Why are so many people leaving Waggy out of their current best 11? The guy was our top scorer last season and already has 4 in 2 games this season. What more do you want?

To be honest the goals in the cup count for nothing really and Wags could/ should have scored more than that given the standard of opposition. I found it frustrating watching how reluctant he is to have a go with his right foot, makes him really predictable and he missed out on numerous chances because he makes it too easy for the player to close him down on his left foot.

Having said that, for where we are as a club, I am happy enough with Waghorn myself, he is a capable player. I do however hope he plays mostly from the right side and cuts in on the left from there because he just looks awkward at times through the middle.

That for me is the difference between him and Griffiths (the rat) . Griffiths is almost all left foot but he can mix it up when pushed to and go with the right, making him more effective through the middle. Waghorn is just all left foot which cuts down his angles of play. Honestly think he could add about 25% to his tally simply by mixing it up now and then and taking it on his weaker foot, keeps the defender guessing if nothing else.

Well said! StuAC.
I can't understand the thinking. He isn't on his best form but he's still performing miles ahead of all our other options.

He came back for pre season early and looks fitter than he did last season. Yes he's all left foot but if he was two footed and scored 40 goals a season he wouldn't be at rangers. He missed chances in the league cup but bare in mind this was pretty much pre season and he scored 4 goals in 2 starts. For he's a first pick until the goals dry up or he loses form.
