I am looking forward to him joining as the Preston fans seem gutted to be losing him, my only concern is. where does he fit in? Waghorn is still our main goal threat and needs to be played up top and in the middle, he will score 25+ if played there on a regular basis. If Garner is a Naismith style of player then he would be looking to play just off Waghorn, but going by MW's strategy so far we have been playing 4-3-3. Does he plan to go 4-4-2 which for me is the way to go, means more cover for our "fullbacks", but on the other hand who is our pair in the middle? Barton and Rossiter are the obvious pairing for me but then you look at leaving out Holt, Krancjar and Halliday! I think Miller is going to be our super sub this year, coming on and making an impact in the last 30 mins so dropping him does not concern me, but what about Dodoo? He's not here to be a squad player! Its a great position to be in and MW must be rubbing his hands together with all this talent at his disposal. We have the best squad in Scotland now (apart from those troublesome CB spots but that will be sorted within the next week I would think) .

Whats your thoughts lads?

he's a striker, he's going to play upfront there is no chance warbs is going to change formation.

I think the gaffer sees dodoo more of a right sided player but the squad will be rotated every week . seemingly garner is 1 of these players who runs for 90 mins and is a pure pest to defenders chases every ball and can finish he needs to be played through the middle IMO.

Dodoo should be main striker pick. Depending on opponents and formation supported by Waggy or the new lad.

Joe garner will be our number 9 for the next 3 years. A lot of people on here clearly haven't seen this boy play. He is a proper striker, 2 footed, great in the air for a guy of his height and superb work rate. The thing i like most about him though is that he has a bit of needle about him. Might get himself into trouble now and then but fans will be in no doubt that he's a winner and 100% committed. Mark my words. this is our best acquisition of the summer.

I personally think windass would b better used as the furthest forward midfielder with garner cf and mckay and waggy each side. barton and rossiter protecting the back 4 because by god they need it.

Do not need to see Garner play - MW has done so that is good enough for me.

My opinion will then be based on what he does at RFC.
