This may be a silly question after yesterday, but it's a simple one.

Would fellow Rangers fans accept second place come the end of the season considering our start to the season?

Gratefully mate and I can't see how anyone would be to proud to say that.

In a heartbeat.
I can't imagine many fans, even before a ball was kicked, wouldn't have considered second place a success for the first season back in the top league.
Of course we don't want to see Celtic win the league but with stability they've had in recent years and decent recruitments they acquired in the summer it would be a huge upset if we were to pip them this year.
Having said that, once we have established who our first team will be this season and they start gel I don't think there will be much of a quality difference between the sheets.

What about 55? Guess that will just have to wait eh! Lol.
Never thought I'd see the day the mighty 'Rangers' would gratefully accept 2nd place! How times have really changed eh!

Absolutely as it will mean we will have justified our second biggest budget, found out our best team, outperformed our likeliest rivals and will have a shot at qualifying for the Europa League which might tempt King or more likely others to put more money in. By the way, Wiss 81 contrary to what you no doubt believe not all Rangers (note the lack of italics) supporters are arrogant b***ards with an over inflated sense of who we are and where we're at. We can be realistic and we certainly got a very large dose of that yesterday. We can also be optimistic though and that makes me hope we can beat you at least once this season.

To be honest, I will accept third place if I see something that suggests a commitment to develop and improve.

This would mean signing two quality young players in January, at least one of which would be a centre back and the other a player that has captained his side and shows leadership qualities. If it happened to be a centre back then that would be a bonus.

I genuinely believe that Wallace's inability to lead the team properly, (examples being Gough, Butcher and Amoruso), is as much of a problem as Kiernan being an accident that has already happened.

2nd place is never acceptable for our club but giving the circumstances and our problems the past 4 year then it's the most realistic aim. King needs to give warburton cash to spend and we need european football to help bring money in. Then hopefully challenge for the title next season. No wonder we brought in players like hill and barton and senderos.

Yes accept 2nd place but can't accept that performance from our defense week after week.

I always look at it in terms of players we lost before we went down the leagues and what we could get in as far as scrambling players in who weren't the standard we would normally have got due to our finances at the time and who could we attract being out the top league and wondered how would Celtic have done in that situation, so I would take 2nd place because of all that it would be a roaring get success.
