Think Barton in the team completely slows down the progression of Crooks and Rossiter, who are two of the most promising young players we have in midfield.

You could say they'll learn a lot from a player like Barton, but at what expense? Sitting on the bench match after match, to try and let Joey find his form.

Rossiter has been effective in every game he's played and was MOTM against Dundee. Crooks has a lot of pressure on him, but if he's even close to as good as Josh Windass he'll be an outstanding find.

This isn't a knee jerk reaction to the game against them or due to what happened last night. This has been the way for weeks and we all know it. He destroys our way of playing.

How does he slow down crooks and rossiter? Crooks hasn't kicked a ball for us yet because he has not been fit. Rossiter isn't out side due to Barton, he's injured.

Really pathetic the way Barton has suddenly become the scapegoat and the cause of all our problems- and this is coming from someone who never wanted him at ibrox in first place.

The whole team has been poor. End of.

honest ger I agree with you but at the same time agree with people that say he slows down the play because for me i'd only play him in a 4-4-2 or bring him on when teams up here are getting tired same as niko who for me hasn't got the speed required to start a game up here .
lets all be honest here we don't play football as good as we did last season and those players are still here so only add the new players into the first team if they improve it like rossiter is a definite starter for me as is holt and windass
if I had to pick a three in the middle it would be them.

Not a bad post honest. The only thing I would like to draw your attention to is the statement of intent from Barton. He was going to be this and that and nobody was in the same league as him. That's the thing that I think is sticking in everyone's craw. If the boy could play I couldn't care less what he says or does but he's no better than what he's keeping on the bench. And on top of all that he's now turning the dressing room upside down.

Crooks hasn't even played yet! How can Barton be responsible for slowing down his progression? It's also funny how people on here bang on about giving the manager more time yet don't allow the same for Barton. Yeah he has been poor but if you want to give the manager more time then surely you have to give Barton more time too.

The whole team slows the play down for some reason now. Last season Tav and Wallace would be working like Trojans up and down the line with balls being fed over the fullbacks or in between the defenders for them to run on to.

This season there is no penetration like that in any game. The midfielders would be full of energy and interchangeable arriving into the box for delivery of the balls from fullbacks. The midfielders are not doing this now either as to busy gasping for air through there arses to be doing box-box.

Attackers are dropping deep and also not in box threatening the opposition. Example is Miller in fullback role half the game against Celtic, WTF!
My question is this, why is this?

Is it the players decision and fitness or has the management team changed our style of play to this poor strategy. What's your thoughts guys?
