Barton has been charged for betting on 44football games by sfa
Could this be what the club need to be shot of him. I hope so bad egg in my opinion for years club should have known better with the old firm spotlight.

BBC have kind of written the defence for Barton in their story.

In May, Partick Thistle midfielder Steven Lawless was given a six-match ban, with four of those suspended until the end of this season, after being accused of betting on 513 matches.

Two former Rangers players, Steve Simonsen and Ian Black, have also served bans relating to gambling rules breaches in recent years.

I think it would be a bit of a stretch to try hook the guy for that unfortunately.

The club might try and bundle it up with the current suspension; which will involve another messy and costly court case. Just what we don't need. I do agree that on its own it would be very harsh and certainly inconsistent if he got bagged for this but would lead to more time out of the team whilst still be paid.

Surely every player now knows the rules so maybe they can be shot of.

When you think Sandaza got binned for getting bammed up in a phone call yet Black got away with it off Rangers for actually betting on a Rangers game is mind-boggling.

I'm hoping rules are now in place at the club where anyone found betting are ofski. Due to past failures it may be common practice to implement this in a contract.

hes going no where, we kept Black who actually bet on us to drew.

he will be here, take his money and put in a few solid performances, he's 34 a think i was naive i thinking he was going to boss SPL he is a has been.

we need to focus on getting second or third, its a long shot but we have done it before ( with better resources)

we are due some luck our club has an awful reputation with the bank so a don't think its gony be easy until we build from the youth and stop buying 34 year old diddly widdlies.

There is no chance of Barton leaving unless you are prepared to see £1.6 million going with him as settlement of his contract.
He has the full support of the players union, not least because the matter has been badly handled by the club, as Souness suggested.
Training ground spats are weekly occurrences in football and poor man management skills don't help.

I have run several businesses - unless Barton agrees to terminate then we must either honour his contract or pay it in full to terminate it.

But to be honest anyone who's played football manager should know that.

I can say that on Face of the facts available publicly, he could take us to cleaners for unfair dismissal and leaking of confidential employee information. Unless he threatened Warburton, but he wouldn't of been just suspended had he done that.
