Just wanted know if the amount of trouble Barton is causing with teammates/ twitter spats / gambling is this worth his diminishing talent? My point is we play very wide so there is more space between our players when we do give the ball away to make up for that you need pace - all the best holding midfielders had/ have it makelele / kante / for what we need halliday/ rossiter and crooks seem a better fit than barton! Its time imo if we can to release this head banger back into the wild.

U take his place in the team andwe'll see how u get on, the guys under enormous pressure and tbh its no fair, he spoke a few home truths after the old firm, he betted on a few matches, so what, didnae hear any of use saying get black out when he was caught betting, or simonsen and let's be serious we could have 5 or 6 ian blacks and barton would play, we all keep saying we need an aireal threat and a leader on the park, joey barton is both these things, if we keep him we'll get 2nd easy, let him go and we'll finish mid table.

Totally disagree with you regarding Ian black, there was massive shouts for him to be sacked, remember that c##t bet against his own team, as for Barton I don't know what will happen, but imo he's finished at ibrox and will be sold in January, probably back to burnley. but if he comes back Monday as is in the frame of mind that he wants to get his head down and earn his wages then I'm fine with that, but it's down to the gaffer and David weir to sort that out, I would love to be inside murray park Monday morning to see what happens, but no doubt the papers will be waiting for his entrance.

I tend to agree with gunnar9 regarding joey barton, here's why, with the way warburton wants us to play I'd play barton one position forward in midfield with another with either halliday, rossiter or crooks playing in the more defensive midfield role behind barton, imo barton would excel in there as he's a very good midfielder don't forget! I agree we leave far too much space for barton to cover by playing him in the defensive mid role as he hasn't got the legs for that anymore the defensive mid role should be for one of the younger 3 I mentioned and then we'll see the best of joey barton and this will be the making of him as a rangers player, thoughts on this bears?

Agree warbshes no got the legs he usty but he is a quality player, imho barton could be the one to make or break our season.

Barton has got off on totally the wrong foot in Scotland. I don't think he realised what a cauldron he was walking into. If he can change his outlook then he could have a decent couple of years with your team. It really is up to him because the fans of other clubs are going to be on his back and in his ear all the time and I don't think he has ever experienced anything like that to the same degree. Last season he was outstanding with Burnley, he really was excellent, and he didn't become a bad player overnight. HH.

when he in different words but basically said that he wouldn't come to rangers if he could go back and make that decision again that's when he f*cked it up imo not the betting or the spat with teammates but to basically say u regret your decision to join is unforgivable. the guy could have been a good player for us and I was the first to say I think he is a brilliant player but since then he has underperformed and even brow looks a better player than him.

we overestimated him and he underestimated this league.
I hope he comes good as he won't get sacked for this but if his performances don't get better he will be dropped from the team wether he is on lots of money or not.

I'd rather Barton went but if he must stay I want it to be based on a written contract with the club that
1)he fights for his place and only gets back in if or when deserved or an injury crisis. He accepts this without public comment or complaint.

2)he keeps mouth shut about Scottish football and other players, managers except via his club media commitments.
If he agrees he demonstrates his commitment to the club and that he is A Rangers player not THE Rangers player. If not he accepts he will leave with the least fuss possible in January.
If he stays on that basis still won't like him but will get the benefit of the doubt-just.

I think he must go he said he wouldn't sign again if he had the decision to make again he questioned the Boss openly I'm not a big Warburton fan but you can not challenge the Boss that's a no no earlier it was posted he is a threat in the air and a leader well the second part I totally disagree with to be a good leader you need to be respected once you have men's respect you can lead and they will run through walls for you but Barton is not respected by his team mates hence the Barry since he came up here he has talked the talk instead of walking the walk.

James stirling, the reason joey barton said if he had the decision to sign for us again he wouldn't was because he believes rangers were wrong in his eyes to suspend him for showing passion for rangers and that he deeply cares with our heavy defeat to celtic and the bad start to the season in general, he actually said as much when he received his 3 weeks suspension, so the ONLY reason barton did say that he wouldn't have signed for us if he had to go back and make the decision again was because of what has happened and if he knew this was going to happen then that's the reason joey said he wouldn't have signed for us, I honestly wish people on here wouldn't make it sound different to what he actually said and meant, barton said in hindsight he wouldn't have come knowing what he knows happened to him now and that james stirling is the crux of it mate, simple and as innocent as that!

The guys a dumpling and always has been and for the poster saying he was an aerial threat, oooof give me some of what your on, daft" broony the goonie"outjumped him abt 3 times during that game and he's garbage aswell but showed a lot more desire than diddy boy barton.

So what was he given a 3 week suspension for? Speaking his mind or telling the boss to f*** off? I wasn't there so don't know what was said - but if he did swear at the boss in the manner suggested then he should be sent packing - Barton has underestimated this league - I don't miss him in the team. - With a further ban likely and match fitness lacking he is useless to us -.

The manager has a difficult decision, does he cast aside, potentially the best player we have or does he go for lesser mortals for the sake of harmony. In my opinion, this is a no contest, the most important thing is unity and if MW falters, he should fall on the same sword as Joey. The team is always more important than any prima donna's opinion of themselves.

The difference between Black, Simonsen and Barton is simple, the first two were a total waste of a jersey and should never have been at Ibrox, Barton has a quality CV and we expected more from him, especially given all his talk.

Tha manager that brought the first two should never have been appointed in the first place whereas we are generally happy with Warburton although I am not convinced that Barton was a Warburton choice. (More like King trying to get a big name signing on the cheap)!

I would much rather see a fit Rossiter given the opportunity to prove his worth. He looked the part before he was injured and he was one of the best up and coming young players in England.

The problem with all of our players is that they are under the spotlight consistently by the Scottish Press and it only takes one slip-up and they are destroyed by so called journalists that hate us.

Gunnar9, I hope your right on Barton, but what I have seen in the few games he has done nothing to impress .
Thought he slowed our game down and looked very slow .
I know he never had a pre season , if that is the reason he should not be playing until he is up to the same fitness levels as the other players .

I think Mcparland will be involved or will have had a word with Barton during these three weeks, can see him bein a bit of a middle man not just between Warbs but poss Halliday and any other squad members. Dunno for sure the outcome but I do NOT want to see us paying any player off, we must at least get Barton fit so that come Jan he will be an player a team can use. He really needs to show some respect to the club he can't be that deluded to think he can act the way he did and come out the other side in the same mind set and attitude. I really hope that inside his head he has the goal of turning this around, imagine what would have happened if it had been Walter Barry and Ricksen had been present! :/.

we will not finish mid table, it would be a disaster and the board will back us in January . Ill take third and euro footy for next year.

Bluedie, there's one thing to have your opinion in wanting shot of joey barton at rangers which of course is fair enough but honestly mate, if you truly think barton is a dumpling then my friend I truly think your knowledge of a footballer when you see one could be written on the back of a postage stamp! Because immaterial if you want rid of him because of his conduct or not barton is without doubt a very good midfielder and always was!

Some of the people being vitriolic about Barton should have the balls to admit they will have made mistakes in life too. Only they didn't have a bunch o bams on their case about it.

As long as Barton shows a willingness to move on that is exactly what should happen. Some of those critical will soon change tune if he comes back and shows some form.

I can honestly say I never wanted him at ibrox, but he is there. Be supporters not hypocritical critics.

W15 and Ross just need to break up your slobbery love in for a sec lads but i stand by what i and a lot of others on here say that must not have a clue about football that barton is very average (dumpling might be a tad harsh) . people bang on he played for man city, aye years ago when they were garbage. he's a centre mid whos lucky if he's hit 20 goals/ assists in his career and prob into double figures in red cards. not exactly "technically best player" stuff but yous 2 are easily pleased.
