Was at the game tonight and it just wasn't good enough from a lot of players so these are my opinions of the ratings tonight.

Foderingham-5-Needs a boot up the a*** with his kicking out, too often hesitant to play the ball up with urgency, also needs to command the defence more.

Hodson-5-Played okay for the majority of the game but slack play for the goal.

Kiernan-6-Had a decent game, still needs to assert himself in the air.

Hill-7-Looks more solid now than he did at the start of the season and looks to calm the defence down.

Wallace-6-Looked a bit more like the Wallace of old, bombed down and put a couple of good balls in.

Halliday-5-Always committed but needs to be more positive with his passing.

Holt-5-Quite a quiet game for the wee man, needs to influence the game more like last season.

Windass-6-Looks to get forward and become the playmaker but final passes could have been better.

O'Halloran-8-MOM for me, a breathe of fresh air to see a rangers winger taking on his man unlike McKay who comes inside to often. Has to start Saturday.

Garner-6-Good goal, needs to cut down on the falling all over the place though.

Forrester-7-Had a good game, needs a run of games like last season to keep confidence growing.

McKay-3-Really is playing poor at the moment and added nothing to the team.

Miller-5-Done alright when he came on.

Waghorn-3-Didn't have much time to get into the game.

Just my opinions lads, anyone agree/ disagree with anything?

Insightful analysis MCFEC, but I think Wallace struggled defensively again and a lot of their threat came on his side. And Gilks is definitely better than Foderingham. I also think that the defence in general are not quality enough to start building from the back in tight situations and need to play it a bit longer, but that's an issue I have with the manager's tactics. And there are players (McKay, Waghorn, Halliday) who will not cut it at this level.

MCFEC, i think your assessment of our teams performance against st. j is a very fair and accurate assessment mate. MOH i totally agree with you as he has to start against killie on saturday and WAS the motm and by far our best and most creative player. Warbs has to be fair now with michael and give him a run in the team!

Kiernan barely put a foot wrong last night! He's one of the only players who I saw continually driving in to the oppositions half when Hodson/ wallace/ Hill/ Holt and Halliday were too busy passing diagonally to each other he moved it up and found a pass! Rarely got outmuscled, had several decent opportunities at corners. What more does the lad have to do?

Mackay -3- added nothing to the team? It's difficult to take the rest of your points seriously if that's your genuine belief. He was only on twenty minutes and did more in that time than Holt, halliday and windass did all match.
Played a worldy to Wallace who crossed for garner who really should've scored with the head. Pinged a 30/ 40 yard crossfield ball directly onto the toe of hodson, inch perfect, which led to halliday having another shot on target. He drove us 20 yards further up the pitch by dropping deeper, picking up the ball and running with it before passing it on. He also slid in and won the ball back near the left back area, beat two men then helped pass it out from there, quickly, and start another attack. He was excellent when he came on, personally the krankjaer role is his best position and I want to see him there at the weekend.

I disagree with wee-ecky. The majority of St Johnstones dangerous attacks came from down our right side, Hodson was exposed just like tav normally is. O'hal was great on the right but I'd put tav on the wing purely for the fact he can defend aswell.
