Regarding Scotland squad ;

Should Halliday be in the squad ahead of John McGinn?

Different types of player. Can't see Halliday getting near the Scotland squad and it doesn't say much for him when Strachan asked Brown to come out of retirement to play.

Strachan will never play these guys even though they are better and in better leagues he has his favourites and he doesn't care if it is the best thing for the team or not.

Strachan won't need to worry about picking another scotland squad. He'll be offski if we lose to england at wembley a week tonight. Although i desperately want my country to beat england, I just can't see it happening and mr. strachan will be history!

John Mcginn in the squad is an absolute joke, there are much better players playing every week in the English championship than him, Kevin Mcdonald, Tom Cairney!
Bloody hell Arfield had to choose to play for Canada even tho he has proved he can play at premiership level because Chesney wouldn't give him a sniff.

I don't believe that Halliday should be in the Scotland Squad but I would agree that neither should McGinn. Unfortunately Strachan is not really good enough either to manage a National Football Team.

Too much baggage with Davies methinks. Never been and never will be a yes man. Alex McLeish would be my choice. Strachan will be forced to resign after we get bumped at Wembley. That's my prediction. Hope not but just think if England click it could be embarrassing.

Cee, I've seen him play many times. Almost as much as I've seen Andy Halliday play - and he's twice the footballer in my opinion. FWIW neither should be in the Scotland squad, but the question was an either or.

As for your comment on his family name, the same comparison could be made about Andy Halliday in terms of his status amongst most Rangers fans, in that it's got less to do with his (very limited) ability and more to do with being "one of your own".
