Whoever comes in during the January window Warburton must bring Burt and Hardie into the first-team squad. The prospect of Hardie pairing up with Garner is exciting as Hardie could revel in the chances Garner could create due to his physical presence. And surely Burt could be given a run in midfield? If and when Rossiter is fit I'd like to see a midfield trio of Burt, Rossiter and Windass given a run-out. As for tonight's game, a solid win and three points will do. The dark side only managed a 1-0 win over Hamilton at home the other night.

guys. all the talk about the youth players. have any of you saw them play from a young age. i have. and let's just say. as a group they are miles away from 1st team football. the couple you mention are decent but would not hold down a spot in a championship team. so let them develop for at least another year. they are not the saviours some of you are making them out to be.

Fellow posters. How can you possibly know if they'll be good enough without giving them a run of a few games? I thought Barton, Rossiter and Senderos were supposed to be our 'saviours'? There is no point keeping these bright young players under wraps forever. It is ridiculous to suggest that players have to be over 21 before getting a chance in the first team! McCoist in particular ignored our promising youngsters and never game them a chance. I'd rather see a handful of our home-bred players given a run and developing into an exciting team even if it took another 2 or 3 years to get back to the top instead of plastering over the faults with stopgap signings.

Spot on Doiger. We have always been guilty of not giving young players a decent chance. I would rather at least give a couple of kids a chance than gamble in transfer market with money we haven't got. Murray park is a joke when it comes to producing young players.

Doiger - if you thought that Senderos would be a saviour at any point. you really need to get a grip of yourself.

Dodger, there is no way our fans will wait 2, 3 years a lot of the posts on here just 3 weeks ago wanted the manager sacked after 14 games, I agree we need to put good foundations in.

well said cee. also these boys if they where good enough they would get a call up they need to do well and cement a starting place in their respective loan teams and if they do that and show promise then they can get a chance.

Doiger, Burt is just 17 years old. He's not ready yet, but the manager is doing exactly the right thing by introducing him to the rigours of first team football steadily and carefully. It's called nurturing. And right now, apart from 15 year olds, he's the only one who's got a realistic chance of making it into the first team as a regular player.

Our youths need to be given time elsewhere to gain first team experience. how many English clubs put youngsters in? . most have them out on loan for a season or more. look at what we have had . arsenal and Spurs players. they take them back and guess what. put them out on loan AGAIN! . only real exception is Roberts of Celtic. and he cost 12million. even he can't get a regular game at Celtic. so here is a suggestion. go see our under 20's play go watch 5 games then come back and say who is good enough to start now.
