Been thinking about Jordan Rossiter recently and I have came to the conclusion that the boy just isn't being risked at this moment, the talent is there but I feel like we are holding him back right now for rehabilitation to try and make sure the injured that have plagued him do infact go away and let this young boy get his career really started, what do you other Guys think

Part of his rehabilitation should be competetive gameplay. Otherwise how can the staff judge what stage he's at in terms of recovery. The fact he hasn't been involved says to me there's something more serious with his injury. Why there holding that information back from us is another story.

honestly - I think we took a chance, Rossiter, Crooks and Windass all had injuries when we signed them - 1 has been posted missing 1 now out on loan, the other has only played half a dozen games. that's how we got them 'cheap', this together with guys over 35, is where we shop nowadays in the vain hope that 1 of them comes good.
Expect much of the same if ANYBODY comes in during the next few weeks unfortunately.

Yeah I get that but that can also cause more injuries

The boy Rossiter played the whole euro championships with England before he came to us. He captained them a few times. So why all of a sudden his injury shows up more serious than ever? Also a lack of information from the management ain't helping

My point is you can do all the rehabilitation you want. But in terms of performance the only real way to gauge it is playing competitively. Something must have shown up that is stopping him from kicking a baw

Got a feeling that if the club and fans have faith and loyalty in Jordan Rossiter he will repay as ten fold.

Odds were if he had a good/ great first season he'd be ofski at the first opportunity.

Think if we stand by the lad at this period in his career, he will stand by the club and bring us a decent amount of money in a few years time.

This season is a bit of a dead rubber anyway. Those who say a SC run is essential. We get Celtic away between now and the final, we're essential done for.

Second was what we wanted. Second is where we are. Aberdeen have a game in hand but have a feeling we'll be a strong second this year, way behind Them but ahead of the likes of Aberdeen and so on.

Bil72 your incorrect, we didn't get them cheap because they were injured.

There is obviously a lot more to the injury than was first claimed and I think it would help if the fans were told exactly what the problem is. Reminds me of the Templeton injury where it was said he wouldn't be out that long yet 18 months down the line he still isn't able to train with anyone

I fully agree with Thorn76. We should be 100% behind Rossiter because the boy is quality and if he can resolve the injury problem that he has we will get ourselves a quality football player and a quality young lad as well.

He has had a number of injuries in his relatively short career including a Malleolar injury in 2015, a muscle fibre problem in late 2015, a Hamstring injury in the first half of 2016 and the latest, defined as a calf injury that has kept him out of the team most recently but no one has ever suggested that his playing career in in jeopardy and we need to remember that he went straight from playing for England right up to the semi finals of the Under 19's European Championship and then straight into playing for us without any close season.

We have no idea of what the training schedules are like at Liverpool or what the changes in dynamic would have been in him moving to us but what I do know is that if it takes this season to get him fit so he can be a mainstay next season I will accept that.

All I would ask is that we bring someone in either on loan or on a short term contract to take that holding midfield role at present because we have absolutely no one to play that role in his absence!

Thorn what a ludicrous statement to make, "if u get celtic away", since when did you get an away draw in the cup lol.

More negative speculation and conspiracies. The boy is injured and needs time to fully recuperate rather than risk further injuries.

You cannot recuperate during a high tempo match, only aggravate your injury even more - you can however gain match sharpness but only if you are fit enough in the first place!

Think the reason we got him TBH was because of the worry about niggling injuries.

In all honesty 8 million or whatever the touted sum was for players going from English to English, is peanuts for any team, especially Tottenham who were after JR.

These are the chances you take at a club like Rangers. If we can get a couple of deals like Rossiter, Dodoo, Windass, Crooks and even lads like Bates and Jordan Thompson every season, then our club will be the better for it.

Added to players who are decent performers like McKay, Wallace, Foderingham, Hodson etc. The club will be solid going forward.

Bring in players with ability and experience like Krajncar and Barton and players we missed out on because of lack of European football like Mariappa and Espinoza, the club will be able to challenge the other side sooner than some fans might think.

The rehab part is easily the most important and if done right then the player won't have persistent problems.

If you do muscle mass rehab then it works on reducing the recovery times and protects the problem area, i think with many players though you just don't know how bad the injury is and its a risk if you play them too early.

Rossiter looked a class act when he played, so hopefully his injury problems will be solved as it would be good to see him in the DM role this season.

Kilmarnock Rayman, the same round your lot got an away tie.

Think there's a few paranoid conspiracy theorists out there. Is it not more likely that we signed him, he got injured and has picked up another couple of injuries when trying to get fit?

Bluedie

Was that not a reply after drawing 0-0 at Ibrox?

But there's the rub, Thorn76, you mentioned ten players and only three are regular starters.
