I think we should be doing everything possible to hold onto young Gilmour. Looking likely that Chelsea are going to take him from us. We have no cash to buy talent so surely paying the lad a bit extra and promoting him through to first team quickly is only way forward. This lad has potential to be a real star so benefits on park and financially in a few years far outweighs 150k

At the age of 15 all he has is potential and we shouldn't be held to ransom by a kid, no matter how good he looks. I've coached at that level and saw dozens of boys just as good as him (at Rangers and elsewhere) who never made it. If he and his parents want to listen to the cash grabbers who have no interest in his future development, there's not much we can do except wish him all the luck he will need when he's rotting away on loan at Oxford, Northampton, MK Dons and the rest.

Yeah if he wants to go then let him. Chelsea cram their youth teams with young players like him and only very few actually make it to the Chelsea first team. He may do it he may not however it does look like greed on his or his parents part if he opts for Chelsea

Got to disagree guys. How many young players has rangers got out on loan the now. So who is to say he shall get a game at rangers? Money talks in all aspects of life.

He needs to be very careful. I have first hand knowledge of quality young players whose parents, and them, got carried away with the lure of cash only to find that a few years later they were on the scrapheap and playing for teams like Bury or Southport!

Sometimes the grass in not as green on the other side as people think and oftenn it is the parents that are to blame.

You're right wee-ecky, if he doesn't want to play for the famous glasgow rangers, that's his choice! Let him go and we move on! I don't want any player at rangers being kept against there will! If they're not committed to our club then they leave and we get players in who want to be here! Simple as that and just like wee-ecky says young boys as good as billy gilmour at that age have left our club and other clubs in general before! that's football guys!

Totally agree bigrfc he's nowhere near ready for the first team he's far to light weight just now hopefully he stays but if he goes good luck to the kid there is nothing to suggest he will play 1st team with us we hardly a great club for promoting youth apart from McKay but hopefully that is something that does change in the next few years only time will tell

He needs to be left to grow and mature before being flung in. Derek Johnstone bad a man's body at 16 that's why he got the nod so young. Even fleck at 16 he wasn't tall but he was broad and filled out. Gilmour looks like he's about 8 stone.
