A great win yesterday. 3-0 away to the sheep is great by any standards so why do the negative comments continue? It is interesting that we've kept a clean sheet since Bates and Beerman came in. Garner and Waghorn are useless and Garner is a liability. They are supposed to be strikers but couldn't strike a match between them. Dodoo must now be given a chance and continue to use King Kenny. We've a real chance of a result against the dark side in the cup semi-final. The signs are encouraging even if we do need a clear-out in the summer. Foderingham must be the best shot-stopper in British football right now.

Bates gives me the fear. I don't see anything in him that would say he is going to be a class defender. A good squad player, maybe, but we really have to get a hell of a lot better than him. Beerman on the other hand looks good. Very comfortable on the ball and has loads of pace. Definatley one for the future. I agree Garner is a liability. His antics on Sunday were embarrassing coupled along with his stupidity flying into tackles. Waghorn I think just needs a few goals to settle him. I would definitely keep him but I agree that Dodoo should get a run in the team. We look a more solid team without McKay and I would certainly keep him on the bench against Celtic.

Doiger I would sell Waghorn, Garner and McKay in the summer and use the money to buy two strikers and keep Miller and Dodoo! In midfield hopefully Rossiter and Kranjker can get a good pre season which would be like two new players. I would keep Holt, Windass and sell Halliday and bring in an attacking midfielder and a holding midfielder. We need two quick powerful centre halfs which is priority in my opinion and keep Wilson and Bates as Backup!

You obviously haven't watched the last 2 games if you don't think Bates is a defender. That is all he is! Clint hill should watch him and learn how to command an area, just because he isn't great on the ball doesn't mean he isn't good. You've said Beerman looks good yet do not mention one good thing that will help defensively.

Bates went and challenges for every ball near him came out, was commanding at corners and covered tav easily. People on here couldn't tell a defender if Paulo Maldini kicked there heid in.

He's only young and will hopefully improve but I agree with you bigcol bates makes a lot of mistakes plus he looks slower than a week in jail. In my opinion beerman is probably a class above bates at this minute

Cee, I hate to disagree, didn't see much of the Aberdeen game, but against killie, he spent half the game running away from the ball, the boy was terrified, hopefully he gets over it and settles in but to say he went for every challenge isn't correct.

In fairness to young Bates he has been practically playing 2 positions. Playing CB and covering for Tav at RB every time Tav fails to track back.

Beerman actually sticks with a man, Wallace gets caught out of position every game, not saying Beerman is the finished article but he concentrates on defending and carried out the managers instructions very well against two of the best wingers in the league.

Only negative was the long ball from O'Connor to Logan where he got caught under the ball but he's 18 and relishing the opportunity as he should.

Wallace is and still should be first choice but i've always had reservations about him being club captain - service is second to none as he stuck by us but as far as a vocal point in concerned he's a non entity.

Cee I'm 6ft 4 and I could command an area. i'm trying to give him the benefit of doubt and would assume he was nervous, but all he did was lump it up the park. He could prove me wrong but I doubt it. He looks unsure on the ball whereas beer man looks very comfortable on it. that's my opinion . so we will wait and see.

Yes bad on the ball, he was caught several times and then decided to just clear his lines. At 19 he's played 2 games and has 2 clean sheets. The Aberdeen game was our best defensive performance this season and it isn't a coincidence that hill and Wallace weren't in the team.
