Hardly a fantastic result for Derek McIness today, I honestly can’t see the need to pay £800k to release him. Murty in my opinion is as safe a pair of hands as DM. If we are setting our targets in the short term as securing 2nd place in the league I firmly believe that Murty could deliver this especially if we spent half the £800k on Louis Moult.

I completely agree that the media stuff with Murty have been a breath of fresh air. He speaks with sense, pride and passion.

Derek McInnes has always struck me as someone who thinks he is better than he is.

He has won very little and has only taken Aberdeen to exactly where they should be with budget available.

I have no doubt he will do the same with Rangers but this will only ever be 2nd with him I fear and I also worry about the Europa League, this represents the best chance for some excitement for us as fans and for some much needed revenue for better players. He has zero experience in qualifying for it.

Basically I would stick with Murty for now in Caretaker role until an outstanding candidate becomes interested/ available and if Murty goes on a run that makes him deserving of the position then we make it permenant.

Wee Bear I like Murty but I really don't think that the Man actually wants the Position Full Time! He hasn't said in any interviews that he would like to take on the Job Fulk Time. In my opinion he's happy knowing that he's in charge for the next few games. Again I do like Murty and taking up a Managers Position is something he will do in the future but I get the feeling that he doesn't want the Position right now! I could be wrong tho.

I echo everything wee_bear says! Graeme murty like i've said on here numerous times, since caixinha was sacked, is a better appointment, as our next manager, than derek mcinnes! By the way andy1872,graeme murty has now said he does want to become the glasgow rangers manager, PERMANENTLY!

Graeme Murty obviously knows football. He fits in well at Ibrox and appears to have the respect of the players. He speaks well in interview and obviously is well thought of by the board. He is well aware of the talent in our younger sides and seems to trust youth. I would be very happy if he was our next manager. Although he doesn’t have vast experience as a manager neither did Walter when he took over.

Given the financial restrictions on the club right now surely it would be worth giving Murty the job until the end of the season at least? We are only two unfortunate results off being top of the league - the Hibs defeat (10 men for much of the game) and the farcical Kilmarnock draw. That's 4 points. Also, we've scored only 2 goals less than the manky mob. McInnes isn't anything special as a manager nor was he exactly a great player either. Brenda's bubble will burst soon enough as it did with Liverpool and Swansea and all clubs, including them, will hit a dodgy spell. My granny could have managed Liverpool to the league when they had Suarez and Gerrard in the team. Anyway, back to us and I'd say don't rush off and get McInnes because I can't see him being the answer. Give Murty the job NOW!

McInnes to me a is safe appointment that would cost money. Murty to me has also shown he is a safe, good option who is already at the club, knows the players and isn't afraid to give youth a chance.
