I can't believe the amount of guys wanting Murty as manager.

We are far too big a club to give the reigns to a rookie manager and that is what he would be.

I hear the "knows the club" "knows the players" "talks a good game" etc. etc.

Well remember McCoist and how that turned out.

We need someone that is proven at a big club, and has experience in the transfer market. We cannot make a mistake for the 4th time in a row.

Totally agree Gosman, I just don’t see anyone who meets that criteria being available to us at the moment! With that in mind I see our best option is to keep Murty for now unless good results mean he can’t not be given it on a permenant basis!

A certain Walter Smith was a rookie when sourness left. I'm not saying it would work out the same with murty and I still want McCinness but your thinking is flawed. If he did get it we could do worse. Clearly the players respond to him.

Well said, Royster. He has proven, albeit in the short term, he can do it (the challenge for manager is to sustain their success over time) . I said at the time Pedro ignoring how murts had us playing and drawing against the poppyless, was arrogant and foolish, and it cost us dearly. Any new man coming in, would do well to take heed of what he has achieved.

Maybe it is just me but we played very poor yesterday and miller was playing CDM most of the game. Remember where Partick are in the league. I wouldn’t give Murty the Job it’s far to big a risk, he’s obvs used to working with the youngsters as noway we should be playing with Wilson and Mccrorie at CBs when Alves is fit, plus brings Hardie on when Herrera needs ga e time

Yeh, no way we should be playing with 2 young centre halfs; especially when they have the temerity to be part of a defence that keeps a clean sheet. If hererra was any good, he would have had loads of game time, by now. Even the manager who signed him, wouldn't give him that time. Very poor but won 3-0. Imagine we had managed that a few times last season. So you were right about one thing. It is just you

Must be mate, Wilson to the saviour then. Was a good result and I’d take 3-0 any day playing poorly. I just want to see quality on the pitch that I pay good money to see, like yourself. miller tracking back and sitting in front of the defence and the whole team that can’t break down a defence isn’t quality. just stating that wee were poor yesterday and could have done better in the final 3rd, onwards and upwards

Walter had the added bonus of having worked with the likes of Jim Mclean, Graeme Souness and Alex Ferguson before getting the reigns at Ibrox to be fair. No harm to Murty as he’ll forever be remembered fondly no matter were he ends up in the future but i really think we should go for the tried and tested approach
