Perspective. First I admire Graeme Murty and think he has a bright future at Rangers or wherever. It would concern me if he was given the job as this would be another risk, will the board take it?
Honours as player - Championship winner 2005.
Honours as coach/ manager - none
Coach for 5 years.
2012 - 2014 under 16s Southhampton
2014 - 2015 under 16s Norwich
2016 - now Development squad Rangers
Caretaker mgr 8 games Rangers 65%win rate.
Are we saying because the players are smiling and he speaks well is all it takes to be the manager of Rangers. He has little or no experience of managing a football club let alone one of the oldest, biggest and successful in the world. I would hate to see Graeme to be chewed up and spat out. It will be a tried and tested manger whoever that may be. If you think Murty is the man, on what grounds, i'm all ears.

He has done better than all your other managers pro rata and you cannot afford anyone better.

If you're all ears TJBB, would you care to read my post earlier, why murty ticks a helluva lot more boxes than derek mcinnes!

Hi Supcoop. don't take offence, Murty is doing a good job but I fear he will be destroyed in the chaos and the board will not want to take that risk. That is why it has to be a experienced man at the helm. There is more to managing Rangers (I imagine) than just picking and coaching the team. Imagine the scenario if he looses say a couple of games on the trot and Celtic gub us. How do you think the supporters, media and Sutton would react when we had a list of experienced managers to choose from. The new manager must tick all the boxes not just most of them. Number one IMO, Skin of a Rhino. Murty may have that but I don't know as he is untested when the heat is really on. I would love him as part of the first team staff however as he does have something that endears himself to the fans, which is priceless and can't be bought.

I agree TJBB, Murty is an excellent coach, but we need an experienced manager who knows the ins and outs of all aspects of the post. McInnes was a good Gers player and has done well to make the sheep a very strong team and knows the scottish game inside out. For me he would bring stability which we desperately need.

TJBB what he done as a player has no bearing on how good a manager he will be.
Not all great managers had great careers at football and that’s a FACT

I never implied that because he had won nothing he would be a bad manager. You make a very obvious point that goes without saying. I was pointing out his lack of experience as a coach and he has no history of winning anything as a player or coach. We need a manager that's been to finals or won or almost won leagues as a player or coach or manager, they need the experience on how to prepare a team for a high stakes game and the in and outs when you are at the top table. We can't take the risk on somebody learning on the job.
