Too many people on this board slating McInnes already, if Murty was offered the job and failed at the end of the season for 2nd spot how many so called fans would be calling for the board to resign as they made the wrong appointment remember Murty lost to Dundee and Hamilton but wins 2 in s row against one of our main rivals and all off a sudden he’s the man . I am fully behind him but I would prefer him to look after the development squad as he does have great coaching skills but if it all goes wrong with McInnes then we hav Murty to step in again, let’s get behind whoever the manager is.

So what you are saying Jny-boy is that Murty should nag around as the bridesmaid again waiting to see if the new man falls on his sword before he gets another chance? If I was him I'd be looking for a new job ASAP. He took over a team in total turmoil, he had to get those demotivated and demoralised players to trust him, he made changes to the playing system and moved players to different positions and the players bought into it.

Their confidence is beginning to return as has been shown in their recent performances, they are buying into Murty's tactics and upbeat philosophy and now we are about to bin all that to start again under a manager who has had an undistinguished ten year career in management. And you think Murty will just meekly crawl away back to kiddies' corner? I think he will see this appointment as a slap in the face as he is at least as capable as McInnes, probably more so.

I would take back to back defeats if we won 2 against Aberdeen or celtic its our closest rivals. Murty has done well and deserves his chance to take the team forward

RfcChris couple bad results and you’d be calling for Murray head he’s not experienced enough for the job great guy and will be a great manager in time but we’re to big a club for him to be starting out on it’s ok a few games as caretaker but not full time completely different and I think he would crack under the strain

I think the ultimate test was back to back games against Aberdeen he won both games he changed the formation and played mcrorie in a new position. He instilled confidence in windas, bates, wilson, wee holt, pena even looked better. And let's not forget he took a point off celtic by setting the team up correctly. Pedro and mcinnes both get humped off celtic not murty. He speaks with class and is honest. He is a very good coach which is what we need since we have a director of football and a managing director taking care of everything else. If he just needs to train, motivate and pick the formation and team. It looks like we are set for mcinnes so as I have said before I will follow on but fear the worst.

Murty knew McInnes was first choice and that move wold be made after the AGM and dons double header. He has done a great job considering and deserves all the accolade, however, he also knew he would be returning back to youth set up with reputation intact. I reckon he will be a manger one day and a very good one at that. Hopefully he continues to progress with structure at rangers.
