Hello follow bears
Just wondering what everyone's thoughts are on our manager at the end of season. Do people still want murty to lead the way or has he shown he's not the man to lead us.

Too inexperienced a reflection of how bad things are at the club that we can't seem to attract an experienced manager and have a youth coach in charge. Seems odd there was no one else considered after McInnes. Murty seems a good guy but isn’t right for the job

Too inconsistent for me. He's done well at times, beating the sheep, Hibs and Hearts away and a draw at Parkhead but the defeats at home to St Johnstone and Hamilton were unacceptable.

Before I get stick for it, I know he's inherited a squad that another manager put together but he's the manager now so he should be judged like any other manager would. We can't praise him for the positive results but make allowances for the poor ones because its Pedro's team.

For me, i think it's going to be Michael O'Neil come the summer. I don't think it's a coincidence that Jimmy Nicholl has come in and with him knocking back the Scotland job I wonder if he did so with the assurances that come May he'll be Rangers boss? Makes sense to have a trusted colleague in place to run the rule over the squad for the second part of the season and if O'Neil gets the gig then Nicholl is there as assistant and has spent enough time with the squad to make the recommendations, particularly the players on loan if they are worth signing in the summer.

I like Murty and a new manager could do worse than have him as part of the first team coaching setup.

You could be right there JM22 with Jimmy Nicholl and O’Neil maybe getting the job in the summer it makes sense, you’re also right about Murty being a decent coach and an all round nice guy, but personally I don’t think he’s the man to take us forward as next season I’d like to think we should be challenging for the title and losing the silly games we have especially at Ibrox will not win us the league

I can't see past Steve Clark I think he's doing an outstanding job at Killie👍

If its o neil then why wouldn't we have him in now?

Did M O'Neil not sign up for a further 6 years and big pay rise for N. I. after knocking back the Scotland job? If so he is not coming to Ibrox anytime soon.

U could be right and makes sense with the JN appointment but did he not sign a new deal with Northern Ireland after KB’ing the Scotland job? Personally if there’s a chance for Steve Clarke then we just go for it

Murty should get the job if he gets 2nd I think although what’s you people opinion if he finished say 3rd but wins the Scottish cup? Still go or stay

To be honest I can see Murty getting the job regardless.

Yes O'Neil signed a 6 year deal with N. Ireland so definitely won't be him.

We have a manager and let’s fully back him and assess at end of season.

I think he should be judged at the end of the season, not on a game by game basis.
We all need to remember this is our 3rd rebuilding job in 2 seasons.

M. O'Neil will be England bound.

So we lose a game and it's straight to looking at who will replace the manager. He is not the problem. The players are.

Let's take Murphy, the guy is as lazy as they come. Players repeatedly bombing down his side of the park and he stands in the opposing half waiting for someone to pass the ball to him.

I believe in giving criticism where it is due and the fact that Murphy or Dorrans when he is fit are Rangers fans should not let the escape any such criticism.

I also disagree that the game was lost in the centre of the park. For me it was lost in the wide areas and inconsistent refereeing.

Any 3rd place finish should mean he is not even an option for me mate. Even second, if we scrape it then I wouldn't keep Murty on regardless of a Scottish cup win or not. Win the cup and secure second comfortably, then we can talk. All this we are on a journey etc. we have been beat twice at home and fluked a win away against a team that came up from the Championship last year. I don't understand how we can be so close to them in the league when we had a whole year head start on them to settle back into the SPL.

i agree calvin55, yes they will keep murty regardless the cheap and safe option for the board!

If Murty did lead us to a Scottish Cup win, then it might be hard to get rid of him. Not really that interested in second place.
Are we really saying that being able to finish ahead of the sheep is what is needed at Ibrox? Think we have to aim higher than that.
