If it is that Gerrard that ends up our new manager I’ve got to ask why, yes he won everything as a player and also all his England caps but to start managing without any experience it’s a big decision for the board because it will be another clear out this season then if it go’s tits up it will be another clear out suppose we will just have to wait and see . 🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧

Could always ask him to play still far superior to anything we have

Stevie G will not come unless we guarantee decent finances for him to shape the team. If true it’s a bold move by the board financially and I just hope it’s not an all in or bust scenario. Genius or crazy risk? I can’t make my mind up with pros n cons

The prospect of SG becoming our next Manager is beginning to grow on me.

I can see so many parallels with Graeme Souness career and we all know that turned out

So, yes I can understand many bears concerns about his lack of management experience, his age, but on a positive note, he’s had the pleasure of working with some of the best coaches/ managers in the past 20 years or so.

I’d like to believe that he will have picked up more than a few tips on formations, game management and man management.

I’m old enough to have watched Rangers in the early 80’s pre - Souness and believe me it’s gone full circle.

I draw comparisons to Celtics superiority throughout the Greg/ Wallace years and the Souness Revolution that catapulted us to new heights and 54 titles

So if Stevie G is going to be our new Manager, then he’ll get my support and I hope the fans really do get behind him

It’s coming Bears. embrace it and strap yourselves in as it may be a bumpy ride. 🇬🇧🔴⚪️🔵🇬🇧

Greyfriar, i also was going to watch rangers through the greig and big jock wallace years,1st and 2nd stint! I've been going to watch rangers for nigh on 42 years now! I can remember superbly well the revolution in 1986,when graeme souness replaced big jock wallace,
originally as our player/ manager, with walter smith as his assistant and what an appointment these 2 were! So like you mate, i can see where you're coming from, as it does draw similarities, if indeed stevie gerrard is appointed as our new manager! The same impact could also follow! You just never know! let's hope for the gerrard revolution, if he does indeed become the 18th manager of the famous glasgow rangers!

Difference is souness was able to come in and buy players on a different level to anyone playing in Scotland , Gerrard won't be able to do that .
