For the record, I said Murty is not a manager and I mean that but I do have a lot of respect for him. With what he has, he has done the best he can. Pedro's shambles had him on his knees let alone the back foot and he turned the dross we have into a bit of a unit. Gerard had been working with teenagers who would walk into our team and has an infrastructure there that Celtic would dream of. If he comes here, that's all gone. I hope he knocks us back for his sake and ours. If not Walter, Tommy Wright or Billy Davies. We need a man and preferably a Rangers man.

Watched the game today. I am a Liverpool fan and wondered what Gerrard was getting himself into.

The scoreline showed the gulf in the two clubs sadly. The Rangers vs Celtic match was always one match I loved watching as you never knew which way the scoreline was going to go.

On Gerrard, given the current state of the Rangers I think Gerrard would be a good option if the fans give him a season or two of finishing second or third. The guy is bound to have connections in the game, I don't see any other managers with the similar connections being interested in the Rangers job as it stands.

Really want to see Rangers get closer to Celtic whether that be with or without Gerrard. Just think if you can get a little funds together there will be clubs/ young good players willing to come and play for Gerrard. Plus if anyone is going to know the way Rodgers trains and manages it will be Gerrard.

It's a big risk for both sides. It could be a great football story if it works out tho.

Craig, this is my first day on site. Only came on because I am so disgusted with how utterly posh we played today. I have watched this sight and really agree with a lot of what’s been said but at the same time. I think the whole rebuild has been wrong, can't even begin to say my thoughts on that. I’m asking for a Rangers man because I think it’s the only fix. A proper die hard, someone who knows the context. We are on our knees and played today like a Sunday league team. I said before that lot aren’t as good as we made them look. Give me a name who would step in and get the heads up. O bet my house that Walter will trump him. Struthseeker you still banging on about a gers man. Super Ally was a gers man . Look what happened! Some of the comments about our own youth have been bang on. We need to give them a chance and bring in someone who can nurture that talent.

jordz. He's not really getting in to anything he's unaware of, we were humped two weeks go back 6/ 7 weeks and we were winning games and Scoring for fun, there is some potential in the squad.

The players seemed to have it out for Murty since our 3-2 loss in March, i'm not sure they have broken sweat since them.

Govanor, you want to know my real thoughts? We wouldnae need a Gers man if Kenny McDowall had been allowed to build! 6 years back we could have built something great instead of trying to chase to the top! A few players from league above and letting the young bets come through. Boys like Perry MLeod and McKay could have been blooded and supported by a few of the better players from each league we passed through. Sure, maybe one Daly or Templeton accoss the years but build a unit, a Phoenix from the ashes. Something Rangers through and through. But no, we Del Boyed it and now we’re at death’s door. Is it any wonder that anyone who still takes notice of us is either shaking their head or laughing their balls off at us? Walter is the only roll of the dice I can think off.

Struthseeker walter is the only rangers man i would trust with this job no but that ain't going happen.
So we have went for gerrard and he will certainly raise the profile of the club and attract better players and will be intresting summer at the club to see the way he plays and who he signs.
but more importantly our board need to provide him the tools for the job and the fans will need to cut him some slack and allow him time next season if things are not going well i have no doubt he will success and for sake of club i hope i am rite
