Looking foward to next seasons i think we realisticly need 8 or 9 good players
To many of our players go missing in big games or when things are not going well in match they just stop trying and shirk away from there responsibility.
This talk of only needing only 4 5 players is rubbish if u look at who is likley to leave in the summer and the squad players we have that are not up to scratch we will need more than this.
The only way we should really be signing loan players is if there going to be automatic picks in our team due to there abilty and are better than what we have.
We should really be signing players who we then can sell on for profit and then reinvest

If we lose 10 players we will still have a first team pool of 18 (that's how much rubbish is around the place) and if we added five with genuine ability and promote a couple of younger players, that will be about right.
Foderingham Miller Goss Martin Cummings Hererra Pena Cardoso Hodson at least are all on their way out.

Also looking forward to the future. sell Morelos Windass and Fod while stocks are high and reinvest. As you said we need to be a selling club while reinvesting to become stronger. Only real way of making any kind of money in Scotland.

Burnbank based on what i have seen from these players this season and your list above i would add halliday holt morelos windass tavenier posibly murphy and dorrans aswell
As there not consistent enough
and some off them we could raise funds for to reinvest in players who are better this is only for us to get stronger.
i would say keep alnwick mccorie john jack docherty goss candelias cummings some will be squad players that's 8 players
Not sure about murphy dorrans rossiter
would look to sell morelos tav fod windass cardoso herrra alves wallace should be getting a combined fee of 12 to 15 mill for them plus freeing a lot on wages for us to reinvest.
So this is how i come to my conclusion that we need 8 or 9 players

Can't do anything with Murphy and Cummings apart from buying them for next season and don't think Gerrard will want to use about 2m of his budget on them but might be wrong

While I agree with some of your post, Craig, no club could seriously make those wholesale changes in one window and be left with just eight players, it's totally unrealistic. If you add Bates to those I mentioned that will indeed be ten out, and others who may not have set the heather on fire yet will be given the opportunity to prove themselves to Gerrard. I don't expect Alves or Wallace to last past January when the second part of the cull will come, but if Gerrard procures two central defenders, a solid tackling midfielder and two strikers to rebuild the spine of the team, the personnel we have left call fill in around that and we will have a solid unit.

Burnbank if we do not cut a lot of these players loose then come next summer we will in same postion in the leauge as this year.
Am prity sure some clubs have made these kind of culls to there squads before.
we could use the likes ross lyon aidan wilson rudden burt middleton atakyi dalas 7 in total as backup am sure they could do better than our current backup players plus save us on wages therefor giving us more funds to use for key players.
To many of our current stars underperform on a regular basis to be in this team next year

Not far away deanobear. I'd like to see at least two boys moved from youths as squad players I'd get rid Alves, as not value based on wages
