Since Gerrard has joined I've seen a fair few posts here and there saying they hope he has say over players coming in/ out and such, I'm assuming from people who don't know how the system generally works.

Now, I don't have a mate's mate's cousin's best friend's auntie's son's best mate who works in Rangers like most of you do so I could be totally wrong here but as Gerrard has been saying all along it's a team effort between him and the other guys in recruitment but the manager will always have last say since they have to fit them into the team and actually play them.

That tends to be how the system works unless you have a really overbearing board/ chairman like in Cardiff among other places.

Most of the recent stuff with Shagger and Arfield were set up before Gerrard joined but weren't finalized until the new gaffer gave the green light.

As much as I love Rangers, always have and always will, there's a small but loud portion of our fanbase that's overly paranoid about everything, while after recent years I'm all for being careful and not taking everything at face value there's no point in paranoia for little to no reason with little to no proof, that tends to be the way of the Green and Gray, it shouldn't be our way.

I've been watching Rangers regularly since I was 7, 27 years ago gulp, with my dad Rangers through and through, and grandad Port Vale supporter WTF and greatly missed, and up till this season I'd agree with you about paranoia and ref bias. When you get a player sent 4 times early season 2 rescinded, should have been 3 and the sheer volume of blatant none penalties given against us and obvious penalties not given to us by refs in perfect positions to see them this season . its hard not to get paranoid

some of the fans are complaining about potential signings being too old being in their thirties, with no sell on value, but for me I think it is the right way to go with established players who will get us winning games, then bring on academy players with 15 mins to go to see if they show any promise.
First and foremost I want a winning team on the park regardless of their age.
We have mcrorie, docherty and rossiter with sell on value.
