Danny Ings is leaving Liverpool. What could be the chances we could get him up here. Even if we could go for a year loan with option to buy that would suit all parties. I know folk will go on about wages but he has been literally missing for the past two years and this could be a great chance to reinvent himself. Thoughts?

It would be a free transfer he has agreed a mutual contract termination with klopp and liverpool. Wages would be an issue but the lure of Stevie G might help

Unfortunately it won’t be a free transfer. Liverpool have agreed to allow him to leave (they actually wanted to keep him and offered him a new deal) and have stated that they won’t ask for a prohibatitave fee but who knows what that means. That could mean anything around 6-8 million which in England is peanuts but to us unacheivable. If however it is a very reasonable fee then I’d definitely suggest we try if we can convince him to take a wage cut too.

If money is motivator then we have no chance, however, if it’s not then who knows. There will be plenty of EPL sides interested and Celtic I’d imagine also. I’d love him to be the marque on strip launch day.
