My pretty basic opinion so far just before half time.

Defensively we've been almost flawless.

Could do with a little more creativity in the middle of the park.

Seriously missing a left footer on the left wing, hopefully means Middleton will see a good amount of game time.

Only 1-0 to us as I'm writing this but generally happy, we look hard to beat but need to work on going forward somewhat.

Can't understand why Candeias isn't playing on the right tbh, and regardless of his goal Murphy isn't more than a decent squad player. Too right footed and too predictable - cuts in every time!

I think it's mostly because Flanigan is basically playing as an inverted full back cutting inside whenever he has the ball or whenever we're attacking so with Candeias in the middle drifting wide it balances things.

Not a fan of that style of system but I'm just a fan, if Gerrard thinks it's for the best then he knows far better than I do.

F-U, I started writing a reply but it was like gone with the wind so I deleted it. But basically what i wrote was hopefully Gerrard is still experimenting because the team didn't look balanced at all to me!

I think the only positions that worked were GK, CB, CB, RB and DCM. All the rest were poor.

Personally I would like us to go a simple 442 for a few weeks until the team gels a bit and would give candeias his natural position back and hopefully a target man to cross in to who could partner morelos (who desperately needs help up front) .
