now before all the haters comment, i have been a bluenose for almost 40 years so not a celtic fan pretending to be a gers fan on here to get a reaction

everyone including myself was excited by the SG appointment but let's be realistic here and ask has it really been a success so far?

obviously Europa league qualification is a great bonus but the league is our bread and butter and quite frankly can anyone be happy

apart from the St johnstone game what have we actually done? beat a very very poor dundee side, a st mirren side who have scored since august.

4 away games, 0 wins, 2 defeats and 2 draws

im sorry but this isn't good enough. Now we can all point at the Alfredo red card at aberdeen costing us the points ( and probably rightly so ) but the motherwell game was our own fault, the performance at the piggery was woeful and yesterday at the mighty Livingston was a disgrace. Plastic pitch is no excuse as they train on these daily at Auchenhowie

if this had been Pedro, warburton or even Ally then fans when would be in an uproar and asking for the sack

the fact that the manky lot are a shambles this season and are still above us and have still beaten us makes this even worse as we had a great chance to go and finally hit 55

there is not a chance we will win the league this season and sadly if our away form doesn't change then we won't finish 2nd

we have a better quality of palyer but sadly something isn't quite right and i think its ( unfortunatly ) SG lack of experience and believe the job is too big for him this early in career.

So are you actually in a lot of words saying sack SG now?

Aberdeen away, very unlucky.
Kilmarnock away, good result (league cup)
Motherwell away, unlucky, lack on concentration
Celtic away, caught in headlights, and celtic played there best football of the season.
Livingston away, we were shocking, agree
Didnt over react when we were winning won't over react when we get beat.
Remember no one expected hearts to go on this type of run. Take them down to say 14 points and we would only be 3 short of top spot. Even without that we are only 3 points off of second.
Calm.

What aload of nonsense! We are in the group stages of the Europa League, semi final of league cup and Gerrard has only been here for a few months and had 1 transfer window give the guy a chance fs.

I never expected us to win the league and neither should anyone else have. I also never expected European football past August. So, in that regard SG has already surpassed one of my expextations. As for the former, you really need to get out of this short-term mindset. I expect the players and SG to grow and learn as the season goes on and to secure 2nd place. Then, I hope that next season the experience gained from this year allows us to make a proper fist of a title challenge. I think this is quite a reasonable mindset so perhaps you should adopt it too.

A very well thought out and reasonable post so72. I just don't get this knee jerk reaction after every bad result. It would be different if there had been no improvement but quite clearly, as you highlighted very well, that is not the case.

Motherwell wasn't unlucky. Rangers never got out their own half in the 2nd half of the Motherwell game.

firstly i should have stated that no i do not expect SG to be sacked and i did not expect us to win the league this year. i am purely highlighting the fact that if this had been anyone else the vast majority of our fans would be calling for the manager to be sacked. If this had been our league form over last 2 season we would be 10 points behind celtic at this. do you think that's acceptable after 7 games? we are just lucky they have been poor but that won't last the whole season and sadly they are going to pull away

As i said Europa league is a bonus but it shouldn't detract from our terrible league form

Finty as i said the aberdeen game was unlucky, motherwell we poor it wasnt unlucky

36th Ulster your point on Europa league is moot and semi final of league cup isn't a great acheivement when you look at it as 2 games, 1 of which against a championship team ( yes the killie game was good )

my point about Gerrard and the job being too big too soon is down the tinkering with line up and not having the tactical experience to change things

he makes too many changes to line ups every game ( some enforced ) but why make the changes he did yesterday knowing how well Livi have been playing. try keep a settles side and let them gel and flow.

Hahahahahahahaha unbeaten in Europe after 9 games and he's to go already.

I knew this was coming after yesterdays performance, utterly pathetic and beyond fickle.

SG is a fantastic signing and I think he will get it right. However he needs to start games playing to our strengths. Back 4, 3 in midfield, 2 wingers and someone through the middle.

He changed the tactics for both Livingston and Motherwell and it has cost us points. Against smaller teams we need the first goal and we need to set the tempo right from the off. We were far too slow yesterday and didn’t win a second ball.

Jbf500

It's a reality check which I think we all need from time to time. I've said before on here it will be these games that are the differences between winning the league and not.

To me we have a stronger squad than last year that will challenge for the league. Europa League qualification. but the biggest thing is I other than Motherwell and livi yesterday am back enjoying and looking forwards to watching our team play. We are forgetting where we have come from.

its a new team SG is a new manager who will get some games wrong and all teams will play their cup final against us. We're playing 2 games a week. But I think we shake it off get behind SG and our team and start talking about Thursday.

🇬🇧.

We have lost only twice in 18 with a new side and players and a manager who do not know the league. They are finding out that any team in Scotland that we come up against try so hard to beat us. That fact will never change and the new well played players have to understand that the livingstones and motherwells of this world with so called lesser players will fight like there is no tomorrow against them so anything less than 100% won’t do.

Whether we win the league or not I don’t know at the mo however the league is more open than it has ever been so teams will beat each other through out the season it’s just a winning run that we need to catch up with those above then sustain the performances, digging in when required.

SG is doing a great job and will get us back where we belong.

Hearts odds got slashed from 40-1 to 16-1 over the weekend. Fingers crossed we can change that again this coming weekend.

Jb, you are right but expect numerous disagrees on your post.
I have already said previously that I think we and the media have over hyped Stevie. Although it's early in the season it looked like we had a great start with him compared to the last lot of managers.

If it's true that he has warned in the papers that the players have to sort it out, this has taken me by surprise as he has to remember it's HIS and the COACHES job to sort it and the players out.
If things don't improve in the next few SPFL games I feel you will have been justified 100% with your post.

Jeez guys n girls we need to calm doon pedro got us put out of the europa league at the start of july last year and kept his job till the end of october so now rangers loose to livingston now there's people calling for steven gerrard to go

Absolute nonsense at the start of the season everybody was happy to close the gap on celtic but now we've done well in europe were expected to win the league

Lets just back the manager and his team.

Pedro and Ally embarrassed us in Europe. Warburton never got that far. Its wrong then to compare our reaction to their failure in the league to Stevie's slow start.

jbf500 just out of interest who do you think should be our manager then?
