Had a very interesting, friendly debate with family and friends there, as who they would prefer as rangers captain, if it wasn't tav.
My top 3 choices in order were, Ryan jack,
connor goldson and scotty arfield. The reason i didn't put allan mcgregor down is because from a personal point of view, I don't like goalkeepers or strikers for that matter, being the captain. So ed, i'd be much obliged if you could run a poll for me, amongst all bears on here, as to who they think should be the captain of glasgow rangers! The candidates being, james tavernier, allan mcgregor, connor
goldson, ryan jack, andy halliday, scotty arfield,
or someone else. Thanks ed, would be much appreciated pal!

Rangers Captain Poll

Why is there a poll about the Rangers captain. Has Tav met with a terrible accident. Why are you asking for a poll (another one) and Ed, why are you entertaining him?

Great idea change the captain for the 2nd half of the season 👍🏻 Sure that will give the players the push they need. Some of the stuff people write on here is mad. Back the team. Tav is our captain like it or not. Mon the bears 🙌🏻.

Listen supercoop would want a poll to change his own name ( or nappy if it came diwn to it ) so I wouldn’t get my knickers in a twist about it but personally I would like John Greg.

As for the Ed he admits he’s allbthings Liverpool and not the mighty ( prob won’t post this ) but ed have you witnessed the blue sea? Think if you had onnthe 29 th you might have been swayed . What about Liverpool and The mighty Glasgow Rangers to do the double . that would be a good party eh?

{Ed001's Note - I watched the derby yes. Not that impressed with Morelos I have to say, he has a poor first touch. Mind that has not stopped Lukaku and Aubameyang making it. I mostly watched to see how Kent got on and I was not impressed at all, even though he was one of the better players. He is miles behind Harry Wilson and is nowhere near good enough to break into Liverpool's team. I think he would be better off staying permanently and having a chance of trophies.

As for the rest, I only support one team, I never understand how anyone can have room for two. Good luck to them like, it is their choice, but for me every other team is just not Liverpool and so it doesn't matter to me who wins or loses unless it affects LFC.}

I don’t think Coops is suggesting we change our captain for the second half of the season and it’s more a just a question for a bit of debate. However, considering we are joint top of league, albeit the jungles have a game in hand, I would say Tav is doing not too badly and he was chosen by the manager and that’s good enough for me. If it wasn’t Tav, it would be big Goldson for me. Happy new year bears. I brought the bells in in Bangkok 👌🏻.

Correct Dunfermline blue nose, a guy with brains and a bit of savvy! These clowns think I want tav changed as our captain, read the post properly!
The clue is in there, its DEBATE!
Anyone on here who reads my posts know how highly i rate tav and continually stick up for him on here! Of course i back and want tav to remain as rangers captain! Not kidding here, i honestly think some of you came up the clyde in a banana boat, very wet behind the ears!

I can see where the ed is coming from. It's only The Famous for me and i couldn't care about any other. Liverpool are flying high just now but let's not forget that is only because of the tv money which in turn attracts further investment. It is not and never will be again, a level playing field until the tv thing implodes. I'm looking forward to that day tbh.

Why is it unbelievable to have more than one team? I live in NI so our league is not good, but I support Linfield at home, Rangers in Scotland and Chelsea in England, a
“ Blues brother “ I’ve seen all three and enjoy the craic. I have two sons one supports Liverpool and the other supports Man U. so you can imagine the banter in our home. My main team would be Rangers of course.

Judging by your posts ED your ignorance and arrogance about our game says it all. Totally disagree with your opinion on Morelos (was that the only game you’ve seen him play? ) . Loan striker role? Nobody is saying Kent would get into your side but is doing fine up here. To be fair it’s about time Liverpool were up there challenging for the EPL considering the size of the club instead of being premier league also rans year in year out. Think you are on the wrong site here mate.

{Ed001's Note - it is not me displaying arrogance and ignorance, you are throwing it out there for all to see. I never claimed to be an expert on the Scottish game, just mentioned I was disappointed in Morelos in that particular match. Not sure why you are getting so upset over one view of one game.

As for wrong site, I don't think so, I was asked my opinion and gave it. If you don't like it, then you are on the wrong site not me.

This is the problem and why we can't get editors to get involved on here because everything said gets jumped on by the likes of you either accusing them of being Celtic fans or slagging them off for not having the same opinion as you. It is tiresome and boring.}

I may only support Rangers and love our club but have a general love for football. I love watching the EPL and don’t generally support any club but love watching great football.
THis level of arrogance from England can only be expected! 🇬🇧.

{Ed001's Note - what arrogance? You are the arrogant one going off on one because I only support one club. I never said I don't watch other clubs and leagues, just that only one club's results matter to me. This is childish and pathetic again. Every time anyone gives an opinion on here you all gang up and slag it off.}

I think it was a good post super as it’s good to see the opinions of fellow bears on any topic. Was pleased with the reaction of full team after our win against celtic - it showed we are all in it together and Tav deserved it. Watched it in Bangkok and cannot remember getting home after it. There was 2 of them and about 30 of us.

Ed
Calm down, it’s a banter sited, no need to take things personal? The Scottish league is never as good as the EPL only a fool would say it was, but without Sky’s Billions your league would be mediocre, how many British players play for Liverpool, Man U. Chelsea, Arsenal, Spurs, ? not too many, my point being without the big bucks the players wouldn’t be there thus ordinary league. Klopp is one of the best coaches in the world so you are very fortunate to have him, he’s incredible. Rangers has just came through an horrendous time in their history and we are and will be building for years to come, and yet their supporter never wavered, now that’s a club? Wouldn’t you agree?

{Ed001's Note - banter? The replies are not banter, they are personal insults, so they are taken as meant. The English league is the biggest only because of one reason, and it is not Sky, it is simply because it is the oldest. That has given it a certain cachet that a lot of foreign fans like. For instance, in the 1970s the biggest supported club in the Middle East was Liverpool, that was long before Sky came along. Even when it was less glamourous than Serie A, there was still a huge supporter base throughout the world for the English league. Even if Sky went away, it would still command huge audience figures because of being the first league. Sky paid the money because they knew the supporter base was there, they weren't just throwing money at something on a whim and a prayer. Most of their income comes from selling the feeds to other countries.}

I do not understand why anyone is surprised that any England football fan is arrogant, arrogance is in the English sporting DNA.
Best ignored as is their patronizing comments on Scottish football.
In Scotland per head of population more people watch football than any other European nation.
Almost twice the % of England so football is a proxy for their days of empire or something else.
What poses as EPL has hardly anything English about it be it players, owners of clubs, managers, sponsors.
Watched a video of Man U fans being asked about Mourinho sacking not a single English person, Welsh, Chinese, American, French.
It is a mirage only 26%of players are actually from England.
Our football might not be the highest level but it is at least Scottish in most aspects.
As to supporting two teams, naw just cannot be unless Rangers, Rangers Reserves Rangers Under 21, Under 19 Under 17s.
My favourite hockey team New York Rangers, I do not have a Basketball team but I loathe the team from Boston.
My favourite law enforcement agency The Texas Rangers.

{Ed001's Note - so you think being exclusive of others makes you better? And you call the English arrogant! Bigotry is rearing its ugly head right now. Personally I am not a racist or a bigot, so I don't care where the players come from, so long as they wear the badge with pride.}

Well, I am an ardent lifelong Rangers fan, but also support AFC Bournemouth as I worked there for a while and went to many games. The two are very unlikely to cause a clash of interests!

Ed.
You’ve made today interesting on this site, but with all its money the EPL is still not the best league in the world, it has to be Spain, European cup wins these last few years have been exclusive to that country, their top club teams are far superior to England. There is nothing wrong with arrogance it just comes from confidence in ones own abilities, so don’t deny it Ed.

{Ed001's Note - if you say so. I disagree though, I don't see any massive superiority, there certainly wasn't one in the Champions League final in May. Hardly a measure though, otherwise you would saying Serie A is just as good as Juve do well or Bundesliga because Bayern did well. For me the quality of the league is measured by the weakest side not the best. This season the level in England has declined markedly it must be said, but you could say the same about Spain and Italy too.}

19.) 01 Jan 2019
01 Jan 2019 15:09:47
You make good points, as you say it’s all down to opinions, I watch English football on T V and some games are good and some are bad, like the Scottish league the English league have a few teams who will always win the league, Leicester was a fluke, you know it and I know it. If Chelsea doesn’t win your title I would like Liverpool to win it, the reason being is the style of football Klopp plays, it’s very watchable.

{Ed001's Note - Leicester was to a very large degree down to luck I agree. Money has always been key to the game though. Well not money so much as spending it wisely. Leicester got double lucky with Kante being overlooked and their other options being priced out of reach. Then there were so many others having bad years too. Very unlikely to ever happen again, sadly. And I would say there are a lot more bad games than good games these days.}

I see my last post with what I feel were valid points regarding your opinion Ed001 has not been shown, quite clearly because I disagree with you and what you wrote. Unfortunately we do not have that luxury eh mate?

for gods sake, it's new years day and the comments on here are ridiculous, slagging the ed and making the banter page look like the brexit shambles.

happy new year ed and thanks for keeping this site alive.
